like their others...used to be better, but was never great to begin with. it's gone downhill, as have all their beers. there's a pleasant enough flavor there, but you have to work for it.

This beer was a little confusing. While most beers with the name "red" in it are typically descriptive of the contents inside the bottle, I didn't see ANY "red" in the beer. Perhaps they were just describing the bird on the bottle? Anyways, the beer was pretty good considering it's a simple lager. The appearance is a solid golden color, tiny bubbles floating upwards with what starts out as a solid white head and then melts into minimal top layer of foam. Aroma consists mostly of bready malts with a small dose of yeast. There is also a grassy hop angle to the aroma but it's very downplayed. Mouthfeel is light in body, crisp and clean. Flavor is mostly yeasty with small bits of grass, finish is slightly bitter. Definitely a clean tasting, refreshing lager although unspectacularly normal.

Eh, it’s okay. I’d take Deschutes’ Cinder Cone Red over this any day. I don’t see the "reddish hued color" at all, but it is unfiltered, which I like. For a Pale Lager this is pretty good, but overall it’s just a beer.

Yippee... yet another Bird Beer from what used to be a classy brewery. I thought that I tried all of their offerings, but along comes this one, that I picked up from Trader Joes. A 12-oz single is more-than-enough to let me know that this isn't my thing.
Oddly enough, this isn't very reddish in color -- more peachy/gold than anything else. Looks more like an off-Kolsch than an on-Vienna.
Enough bitterness to impress in the front-end, but that which is quickly supplanted by the rushing onslaught of sugary cloyingness in the middle and back-end. How can I get bored of this beer less than 1/3-rd through?
About what I expected -- especially since I dislike cloyingly sweet Lagers of all shapes and colors. Have to say that the bitterness helped things along a bit, but this still drastically sub-par IMO...

Orange gold color. Small quickly disappointing head. Aroma is malty and fruity. Medium bodied amber. The malts are mild, nutty and sweet. Hops are slightly bitter. Has a definite lager like quality to it, with small bubbly champagne like carbonation. Mild flavors. Fruity and dry. This would make a nice summer session beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Thsi beer isn't as bad as everyone thinks, but it is what it is. A tinny, acidic aroma but past that it's a refreshing beer. That is good when it's 90 degrees in the beginning of friggin March. Nice malty finish.

I rarely review something I don't like and this is no exception. This is a smooth, drinkable, tasty red. I'm done with #2 and getting another. I gotta say, it's tastier than Killians and they're pretty good. Oh yeah, this beer actually has a noteworthy head.
