You asked, we listened. Back from hibernation, Blackbeary Wheat is our classic American wheat ale brewed with a whole bunch of blackberries to impart a pie-on-the-windowsill sweetness. In time for picnic and barbecue season, this smooth-sippin' summertime brew returns in March and will be available throughout the northeast on draught, in six and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and 12-ounce bottles exclusively in our Survival Pack variety pack.

Crystal clear, straw yellow. Highly effervescent. Thick, rocky white head settles shortly into just a thin wispy cap. Not much in the way of lacing. The aroma is of natural blackberry and it's restrained enough to allow the beer to come through. Bready wheat and floral hops. The taste is as in the aroma, the blackberry is prominent and tastes very natural, but it is also just tame enough to let the beery aspects come through as well. Floral hop punch with a clean bitterness. Bread and mushy wheat cereal. Wheat dough. Finishes very dry with a wheat twang and a mild hop bitterness. The mouth feel is very light in body. Crisp and aggressively carbonated.

Pours a very pale yellow color. Smell is strong with blackberries. Taste is berries but not sweet, some wheat tartness, very refreshing. Overall an easy drinking beer.

Predictable... sometimes a good thing, but in this case it just had no qualities to set it apart from a vast array of other fruit beers. The aroma of blackberry has fleeting and the flavor barely perceptible. Not overly sweet.

This was OK nice berry aroma and visable carbonation with a pale yellow appearence. Flavor had a mild berry flavor with a good blend of the wheat flavors. Overall I thought this was not unpleasent but I wouldn't seek it out.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: The body was a clear pale yellow color with a thin white head. Its head just covered the body and left only minimal lacing on the glass. Smell: The aroma had a pleasant bouquet of sweet wild berries with some notes of grain and wheat malts. Taste/Mouth feel: It has a slight acidity and a semi-sweet blackberry flavor up front that is held in check buy the twang of the wheat. These two flavors are balanced nicely and work very well together. Hop flavor is very mild offering only a very slight herbal flavor and almost no bitterness. The taste thins towards the finish, which is crisp and slightly dry. Its body is light with a crisp refreshing texture and an average to fizzy carbonation. Notes: This beer has a nice solid flavor with an easy to drink body that makes for a nice hot weather refresher.

Overall an average beer. Watered down and weakened taste. The hints of berry were present, but not much else. Could use a bit more of a body with this one, but I'm not much on a fruitbeer expert.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a small thin white head with little retention. Aroma is sweet with blackcurrant being very hard to distinguish. Taste is also very sweet with some malt and some very subtle blackcurrant. Body is way too thin and this beer generally lacks character.

They did a decent job with the blackberries, but the beer itself is boring and insipid. Pale, clear gold with an ok head. Nice, subtle fruitiness. Weak flavor and body. Clean, but bland other than the light touch of the berries.

Not all that bad; not too great either. Great idea with the blackberries. I would have liked more of the flavor tho. Typical summer type brew and this could be easily enjoyed by most. Light sweet fruity and a touch dry to finish where a certain ripe blackberry essence lingers..........just for a bit. Reminded me a bit of sam adams cherry wheat but less mediciny and lighter. I prefer the Blackberries too, which are basically the only character here upon a neutral wheat base. clean flavors. Easy grabbin one after another with this.

Poured a bright golden color with a small white head and light lacin gon the glass. Tart and almost funky barnyard and blackberry aroma. Bland lemon and blackberry taste, very light on malts. Seemed spritzy.
