Reb Ale is a Wheat Pale Ale, a crisp and clean beer with the perfect balance of hops and malts. Its body and clean finish are ideally suited for all seasons, and the brew is dry-hopped for a great aroma and impressive finish, and is often referred to as our "Deep South Pale Ale." And don't look beyond the Oxford area to try a pint! Reb Ale was created especially for, and only for, Oxford, Mississippi. Reb Ale is currently available in party pigs at a wide variety of local retailers. Party pigs are 2.25 gallon packages (one case of beer) that are self-tapping and self-pressurized. This unique storage container keeps the beer fresh for over a month. Party pigs are a no-hassle solution for providing draft-quality beer whether at home in the fridge or tailgating at your favorite sporting event. The Story Behind Reb Ale: Reb Ale was Lazy Magnolia's first recipe designed to accommodate one, specific location. It was brewed in recognition of the overwhelming support of the Oxford, Mississippi, market, home to the University of Mississippi. Oxford is a special place, deeply rooted in history, and is a vibrant center for the arts and Southern culture. This special recipe was a way to thank the initial and continued support of Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company by the good folks in Oxford, as well as the throngs of Ole Miss alumni who make annual trips to their alma mater.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz. bottle. I found a six pack today at Corner Market in Hattiesburg. The appearance is golden yellow with a tall white head. Retention is decent, but lacing is below average. The nose reminds me of a pale ale, but there is somewhat of an off-flavour. It's not that bad, but it definitely was not expected. The taste is closer to expected, with some toffee, apples and a nice bitterness. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, something I've also noticed with Southern Pecan and Indian Summer. Drinkability is very high, perhaps too high; I find my glass almost empty within ten minutes. It may be blasphemy in Starkville, but I must say that I like this beer. It is like a lighter version of a pale ale, and it may replace Southern Pecan as my favourite LM bottled beer. Now where is Miss. State's beer?

Light amber pour with a tight white head, some lacing. Medium hopped aroma, spicy and light citrus and floral, light sweet caramel malts. Taste is smooth and uneventful, with t a light hops bitter, light citrus, zesty, a nd very slightly floral, offset by a nice sweet caramel maltiness. Very easy, very drinkable. Could be an every day APA, a little big for sessionable, but still could drink often.

Good all 'round beer. Pours a nice clear golden color without being too pale. Nice thick white head, but minimal lacing. Average for this type in the mouth with a clean respectable flavor. Good job from an up and coming brewer I think.

Sampled on 1/29/2010. This wheat ale pours a light orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied wheat pale ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are citrusy and herbal. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
