This traditional lager is brewed with generous amounts of Munich malt, giving it a wonderful orange hue with a rocky, off-white head. Light hop aromas balance out a slightly floral nose from the German lager yeast. Balanced hop bitterness offsets the substantial malt body, while the lager yeast adds a subtlety of flavor that makes this a great rendition of a German classic. Prost! A good pairing for the hearty German fare served at Oktoberfest parties in Munich: rich sausages and pretzels, buttery spaetzle or creamy soups. Ideal serving temp: 48-50° F.

Third in our O'Fest tasting from PfoxyJohn. Light golden amber color, medium white head, little lacing. Light sweet malts and very light hops upfront then a very slight "sourness" to this one, a bit watery and thin, finishes light. Weakest Oktoberfest of the night. Tolerable enough if it weren't for the other good we were drinking.

I agree about the slight apple in the aroma. This one started off pretty boring, but opened up nicely. Lots of carmel malt and a little back end hop bitterness. A little on the light side, but not bad. Surprisingly I'm kinda defending a Lakefront beer. Usually not a fan.

A copper color with a beige head. The aroma contains some caramel, citrus, and herbal notes. The flavor has a some malty notes but lots of dry going on like you get in lite swill beer. Overall lets not kid ourselves this blows.

An orange-amber colored beer with a medium foamy white head. There's some hang time. A thick ringlet and light film dusting are what is left behind. Not much of a nose. Caramel malt is discernable in the tasting. Light bodied. Easy to drink.

HI . I reviewed this lager in 2009 and gave it a 7 overall. Now Its 2013 and i am reviewing it again. Its a solid 8 in the octoberfest catagory! Ive tried them all and this ranks right up there with some of the best. ex. spaten, SA, hacker pchorr, and definetly better than Becks. Give it a try If you can

Hazy,orangish-amber with a creamy off-white head. Fruity, apple aroma. Soft, creamy mouthfeel but incomplete as it ends quite thin. The flavors get lost, too; starts out fruity and faintly malty, with slight hints of caramel and nuts, but there's no finish except for some background bitterness. Disappointing. Oh yea, it is the season for Oktoberfest brews and I am looking forward to this representation of the style by this brewery. The aroma is malty and biscuity with some sweetness as well as some mustiness. The appearance is a bronze-orange in color when held to the light with a nice foamy head on top that is very carbonated and has quality head retention (other beerpals have commented on the head because there is none and it diminished quickly; maybe this issue was addressed this year around but anyway) and is an off-white in color and remains becoming rocky while it is consumed. The mouthfeel is light-bodied which is surprising to me with some quality malty complexity as well as some caramelly balance with a palate that is a bit thin. The flavor is malty, sweet, caramelly, musty, as well as spicy to some extent with an aftertaste that is malty with some breadiness and a finish that is a bit thin and not as filling as it should be. Overall, not a bad representation of the style but I have had much better; I will even venture to say Sam Adams' variation of this style is a bit better...decent brew here.

Pours with an orange amber colour and no head. Aromas of apple sauce and pumpkin. Mouthfeel is full and well carbonated. Smooth, silky, lots of malts and nutty character.
