Referring more to a treatment than a style, harvest ales celebrate the current crop of hops by using them as soon as possible after the harvest. This on is in the vein of a Left Coast Pale Ale.

Cask, Whiskey Barrel Aged... Poured a golden color with a small creamy, white head, that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, oak, and coconuts. Taste was dominated by a sharp, alcoholic whiskey, with very light citrus hops. Very thin mouthfeel. I would imagine this is much better when it is not barrel aged.

Finishing my reviews of the Real Ale Rendezvous beers from over a month ago. This was cask conditioned. Can't remember any details, sorry!

Nice "session beer". A tad on the bitter side, but with a mild hop finish.
