The last Vietnamese beer I had was pretty good (Dai Viet Dia Den), but I knew that this was a pale lager so my hopes weren’t very high. I guess being a pessimist in this instance helped. A paint-by-numbers pale lager, not horribly horrible, "drinkable" but nothing really to note. Light hay/skunk aroma. Flavor seems oversweet somehow for a pale lager, like it wasn’t finished attenuating or something. Overly carbonated mouthfeel.

What more needs to be said about pale lagers that hasn't already been said. Like a lot of them, Hue is clear, pale gold, white head, grassy aroma, some hops, and grassy flavour.

A pale yellow body with a very thin head which disappated rapidliy, spotty lacing, aroma of slight malts and a hint of honey. Watery and not much on flavor, It wasnt bad but it wasnt good, and at $2.84 for a single i wont be buying anymore.

Like many asian beer this offering is as well very clear color (pale straw). Not much aroma detect just an hint of sourness...On the watery category, tough not bad with a vietnamese meal.Refreshing and nothing more.

To put his beer in full historical and cultural context, consider following this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hue%2C_Vietnam. Pours a very effervescent beer, with millions of champagne bubbles in every bottle. Clear, very pale straw color with a half inch of pure white foam. Smells like the starfish tank at the aquarium. Who put the saccharine in my beer? Dry, sharp aftertaste. Not a favorite, but worth it for a Vietnam stamp in my beers-port.

Had my first vietnamese meal which was excellent and thought - great they have real vietnamese beer. Wish the beer was as great as the food had been. Can taste the adjuncts over malt and hops.

Bottle, at Delirium Café, Göteborg. Pale yellow beer. Sweetish aroma, notes of grass and rotting vegetables. Maize (corn) and rice flavour, sweetish but not extremely offensive. No masterpiece.

Bottle, this one says 5% abv. Pale gold colour with thin white head. Weak hoppy aroma. Not much flavour, some rice perhaps, sweet, dryish finish. Thin watery mouthfeel. Pretty dire.

Very pale yellow color. Small head. Aroma is slightly malty. Tastes like a non-skunky Euro-lager, or a less rice and wood chips bud. Crisp and clean, but not a lot of flavor. It is at least beer-like, and is without a whole lot of that corn and/or rice adjunct taste so popular with this style. It’s also NOT skunky – THANK YOU! Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is neutral.

This is a typical lager with nothing special about it, It has a subtle bitterness with a hint,a small hint, of sweetness. smells like honey(faintly) and bargain white wine (not the cheap stuff but..) blended with rice and water. not displeasing but far from a great beer, NO head sticks around and as pale yellow as you get from a non-cheapo beer! Glad i tryed it but never again for a 2.50 for a 12oz. average through and through!
