I've had better German lagers for sure. A pale gold pour with a bubbly white head. Cereal malts, floral hops, and yeast make up the nose. The flavour is quite grassy, with herbal hops finishing off.

Purchased at the LCBO in a 3-pack of different beers from Hoss for Christmas 2010. Best before date on back label says 30.05.11. Swing-top brown bottle and served in one of their tall round-cylinder glass mug. Pours a slight hazy light yellow colour with a foamy soap cap that stays a while and leaves patchy lace. Sweet malty nose, but not caramel. More like white grapes and honey. Mild carbonation with a slick, slightly oily feel. The taste is grainy and again, but milder, with honey and grapes. Quite a nice easy-drinking Helles lager.

Clear golden colour with minimal head. Bubbly. Light malty aroma. Crisp and clean tasting. Very smooth and highly drinkable. Overall this is a nice 'everyday' beer that I would purchase again.

Fancy swing top bottle...fairly fresh sample. Puts a lightly hazed golden lager with a frothy 2 finger white cap in the stein. Moderately carbonated,,,laces the glass well. Aroma is pure Munchen Helles but demure and restrained....light bready sweetness, some Noble earthiness and a light citrus discernment. Mouth is soft and delicate...tast is also...nice balance of breasy sweet malrs and herbal noble hopping...clean tasting, fresh bright flavors...finishes with the distinctive "lemon snap on fresh bread’"of a good helles. A world class Helles, I would session with any day.

The beer poured a translucent pale gold, no head, and tons of effervescence. The aroma is mainly grainy malt, with some nice hoppy hints. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt, bread, and some hops. -

Quite light yellow color. Lots and lots of foam, that is not very stable and dissapears quite fastly. Aroma is weak and a bit waterish. Taste is rather hoppy and has nice bitter ending, as it should be in this type of beers. Not bad at all.

My label also says Bavarian Lager and not Helles. In fact I could not find this label on the brewers web site, hmmmm. This is a nice lager. Pours lite amber with little carbonation and very little lacing. I detect a pear note I think with a bit of spice. Light malt and light hops, nice clean refreshing taste. soft on the palate.

My bottle says bavarian lager on the front, not helles. Good mildly sweet smell. Nice pale slightly hazey look. Decent carbonation on the palte. Not real bitter and pleasantly surprizing. Hay and dirt somewhat. Farm pond water taste. A little creamy, in its own way, on the tongue and back of throat. Finish is not bad, no bitter aftertaste, repeatable. Glad I tried this one, one par for a lager lover. S6L3F2T6O12

Picked this up at a local shop, the label says Neuschwansteiner Bavarian Lager, I went to their website to make sure this was the same beer and the labels matched so I'm sure that it is. Great appearance for this one, a light pale yellow with thin white head lots of lacing and an impressive carbonation. The steady upflow of bubbles kept me entertained for a long time. The aroma is faint and subtle slightly malty and a bit hoppy it had the common fragrance only toned down. Average mouthfeel. The taste is delivered nicely. Slightly malty and traces of hops with a grainy finish, this beer is extrordinarilly crisp and smooth. The mild flavor is quite enjoyable, great classic example for this style.

(Had it as: Neuschwansteiner Helles Lager, which is an alias for this). Yellow colour, mediumsized white bubbly head. Hayish and malty nose with rubbery and weak caramellish hints. Hayish, caramelly flavour with hoppy peak. After the peak it turns very pleasantly soft and smooth. Citurs with hops and caramel in aftertaste, nice balance.
