Pours a cloudy straw yellow in color with small white head that very quickly reduces to a small patch of extremely thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. The aroma is of banana and clove, some lighter notes of citrus/orange, and hints of Belgian yeast. The taste is very similar to the aroma, the beer has a huge banana presence. After that, there is a substantial clove notes and some lemony citrus in the finish. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied with low to moderate amounts of carbonation.

Pours out in a clear golden colour with a rich frothy white foma. Mild and anonymous aroma of yeast and green bananas. Light-bodied with notes of crackers, mild yeast, cloves and immature bananas. Short doughy aftertaste with a low bitterness of crackers and banana.

Body appears to be motor oil with only a small bubble ring around the edge of my glass. There seems to be this strange sour toasted coconut aroma with tons of sweet pineapple juice that has a tart finish in the nose. I also smell rice crispy squares. I like and dislike the aroma but it seems completely wrong for the style. Wow that be a sour taste with more a apple/lemon combo then anything ells. Feels very sparkly and has an empty finish. Has a slight wheaty malt character but that’s very faint. This drinkable but for an hefe its shyt. The only real enjoyable thing about this beer is the 1970’s orange, brown, and gold owl on the label.

Man, I remember having this beer a couple of years ago and I pretty much puked. It was waaaay better than the sweet stout which was nothing short of liquid death. I digress...

Poured out a murky dirty yellow brew with a tiny cap that died instantly. Smells a million times better cause I dumped in the sediment - before it was sour and rotten apples. Now it is quite nice with bananas, soft citrus, clove and lemon. Quite sour, kinda like a flemish sour (yea, I said that), lemon, yeast. Some rough carbonation. Finishes heavy on tart citrus with weak, short lived banana taste in the middle. As a weizen it kinda blows but I'll take a bottle of this from time to time if I can find it. This beer was brutal before the sediment as I had it at around 1.6. Drastic difference with the sediment. DUMP IN ALL THE SEDIMENT!!!!

01.11.06 Very cool 720ml bottle with the new logo. The beer, hazed and speckled, is alive with streaming eff meandering coolly through it brilliant golden depths. On the surface, a mountainous white head, lasting firmly, with stiff peaks and thickly coating lace. Bright wheat and lemon aromas greet the nose beside some fresh ginger or allspice, exciting in anticipation of a refreshing quaff. Underlying the classic bavarian aromas is a slick twist of farmhouse tartness that inspires the transition from nose to palate. The first sip is wild with tingling effervescence and a pleasing acidic bite. This beer demands attention, delighting with all the lemon grass tartness and a hint of sweet chile pepper (without the heat) that might be the flourish of a tangy Thai soup. Medium full and lightly coating, the body is fulfilling while retaining enough snap to pair nicely with this lightly oiled pork stir-fry. Unexpectedly, I find only the mildest yeasty spice and the usual punch of banana is present but rather astringent like the unripe fruit. In all, this is a real treat of a beer, beautifully crafted, delicious, and unique.

About the same color as the White but slightly better head. There's a slight soapiness, some lemon, not a lot of flavor at all. Maybe if I could have gotten the damn yeast to stop sticking to the bottom of the bottle and pour into the glass it would have had a bit more flavor but it wouldn't budge no matter how hard I swirled. There were overtones of vinegar and herbs in the aroma that made the beer hard to drink. It did have a nice velvety mouthfeel, though.

Looking at the first few ratings here Im kinda surprised.Didnt think this was that bad of a brew. Tart and tangy with a yeasty flavor. May not be a perfect representative of the style but a drinkable brew.

Light gold color, medium head. Weird nose, citrusy and spicy and ???. Malty and way too hoppy for a weizen. Kind of tart. Citrus, herb and flowery. A little dry. A different beer, but not a weizen, none of the typical banana and clove flavor . Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is a little sweet and alcoholic.

I am a masochist. My second beer from this brewer and it also sucks. Pours with a nice medium, white head. It is a deep gold with lots of bubbles. It has a sickly sweet aroma, like watermellon gum. The taste is bubblegum, but not sweet. The flavor is dominated by tobacco, and a really sour note. May have been a bad bottle and half went down the sink. Very overpriced.

Aroma is apples and bananas and some wheat. The appearance is a dark golden color. The flavor is a bit sour with more apples and cloves. Im not catching alot of bananas. This is a different take on the style which is a plus in my book.
