Translucent yellow gold with thin but dense cap that leaves a little lace. Grassy and sweet, but maybe a hint skunky-- might have to re-review at some point. Flavor is powerful grapefruit bitterness over a faint trace of caramel sweetness: not very balanced and not very complex. Tiny bubbles, not very sticky, but great feel.

The first time I drank this I was listening to Led Zeppelin's song of the same name. The next time while listening to Perry Como's greatest hits. The Perry Como complement was far superior. The beer itself is rather bland. Medium gold in colour, clear, with a white head. Grainy malt, some applish fruit, and floral hops make up the aroma while the flavour is too malty to be an IPA.

-Is that your idea of making a contribution?
-We hadn't even started yet.
-We were this close to losing that.
Okay, I don't even understand what happened in there. What did I say?
-You called his niece a whore.
-A cheap one.
-She's..
-..Confined to bed with a wicked case of--
-No, don't tell him about it.
-I'm sorry.
Okay. So, what does this mean?

Pretty standard-fare IPA, but non-obtrusive. Typical copper-orange color, but not so deep - clear. Medium white head - decent lacing. Medium to full in the mouth. Decent hoppiness, but nothing to write home about.

Purchased in Nashville, TN on a trip there. Pours a rich golden colour with a big off-white frothy-creamy head and full lacing. Great retention and tiny bubble light carbonation. Beautiful hop scent and medium-bodied. Sweet tasting with a little bitter finish. Not as hoppy as some American IPA I have tried from micros, but better than wannabe macros. Right in between IPA and well-balanced.

Yeah, this is an average IPA...nothing really to write home about. Im surprised that there is hardly any aroma. Where's the citrus and pine? I taste it (a little), but I can't smell it. Appearance is the standard light orange color, hardly any head but a little lacing. Probably hopped more like a pale ale, but has some IPA characteristics. Could be the least favorite of the Highlands that I tried, but haven't found one yet that I don't like. I say it's worth the price, but there are better IPAs out there.

Needed to pair something with pork and sauerkraut roast. The IPA came to mind and was the right choice. An orange colored ale. Moderate soapy white head. Disappears fairly quickly, leaving a light ring. The aroma is all hops. The body isn’t watery, but is light. The taste is citrus.....

Thanks to MCrapps for this Highland offering... Pours a slightly hazy amber with a medium head leaving lots of lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit and pine hops with a surprisingly sweet maltiness. Taste is balanced with the bitter and citrus hops upfront and a bit of sweet from malts as a counter. Another fine beer from Highland across the mountains in Asheville. Thanks Rita!

Picked this one up at Brawley's Beverage in NC. Pours a golden/orange color with a decent off-white head with some retention. First scent I got was malty followed by light floral hopping. Malts are present in the flavor as well and hops are perhaps a bit light for an IPA but there's at least more of a crisp bitter grapefruit hoppy taste than the aroma would indicate, which is a good thing. I thought their Pale Ale was a bit underhopped as well. Anyways, not a top shelf IPA but certainly drinkable.

Color is a typical but appetizing coppery amber, somewhat cloudy. Aroma is rich and strongly hoppy with a malty undertone. Flavor is rich and very hoppy but not too bitter - very satisfying. This is one sassy and jazzy IPA, not superb but definitely worth a try if you like hoppy beers.
