This is the new recipe replacing the original He’Brew Genesis ale. Balanced between a West Coast style pale and amber ale with just enough malt sweetness to highlight a flurry of hop aroma and flavor. Witness the evolution of our original creation.

12oz bottle pours clear copper with light tan head. The aroma offers up sweet malts, some malt roastiness, a bit of nuttiness and then slivers of sweet dark fruity esters with some tingling spicy hops and molasses. The taste is similar with more malts than I was expecting with some decent malt roastiness, a bit of biscuit and then it flows into clean spicy to earthy to a bit pine resiny like hops. Into the finish some grainy malts make an appearance as do a bit of sweet dark fruity esters. Pretty nice level of hops that seem to be at about equal strength to the malts plus esters.

Bottle: Poured a orange amber with an off white head. Aroma is light hops. Taste is bitter hops with nice malt balance.

pours dark, hazy copper/brown with a small frothy off-white head. Decent retention and lacing. The aroma is surprisingly malt-forward; roasted toffee is especially evident. Biscuit and caramel accompany this, along with a pine resiny hoppiness. The taste is fairly sweet with a bit of resin in the background. Sweet caramel/toffee and a bit nutty and bready. Mild bitterness to provide a nice finish, but overall this is a touch too sweet, especially considering it's a pale ale. The mouth feel is medium bodied and medium carbonation. Kind of soapy mouth feel.

Think i had this a bit past it's prime, as the other reviews on here are older than mine, and this "hoppy" session brew had a rather weak, uninspired hop profile. Light citrus and bready malts, average across the board.

Don't know why all the hate on this brew? I actually think this is a good hoppy representation of this style. Flavor mid 7s to 8....but mid 3s rating is about where I put this. I like the mouthfeel....and balance is nice too. Worth the try.

    12oz bottle -

Definitely a session with little in terms of both hops and malt. A bit too astringent for my liking, like instead of hops they added aspirin. I didn't find much appealing about this beer to WANT to drink several of these. I barely wanted to finish my bottle.

Sampled on 10/3/2012. This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and citrusy. Decent carbonation. Decent balance starts malty and bready and finishes hoppy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Comes out of the tap an opaque dark honey-golden with a thick, fine-bubbled, pale wheat head. Aroma is VERY hoppy, more woody than evergreen, with fruity and malty hints. Flavor is mainly hoppy, quite bitter and woody, with malty and fruity notes and a whisper of honey. Firm, ragged texture has plenty of life and fizz. If you like IPAs, this one is for you. Dry-hopped beers rock!

Hazy copper pour with a lingering white head. Plenty of biscuity malts in the aroma and taste but nicely balanced by the light piney hop notes that leaves me with a slightly bitter finish. Good sessionable beer.

Light yellow amber pour, decent head, some lacing. Lightly hopped aroma, earthy, some caramel malts. Taste is light earthy and slight citrus hops, some sweet caramel malts. Very sessionable.
