peppery malt aroma, deep bronze copper color. good balance, hops are good and robust, very good. so much malt it drowns the hops

Typical in most respects for a Washington amber ale, although there is a bit more malt than usual. If you ever visit Hale's Brewery, you will smell the malt throughout the entire building...so I can see why this beer has more of a malty character than Mac & Jack's, for example. More rust/copper in color than many other ambers. Decent beer, decent value on tap.
