Another shared from my Luxemborg friend Phillipe. This is perhaps the weakest beer that I have had from this brewery so far. While I found their IPA to be uniquely Scandanvian in its flavour and profile, far different than American or Aussie or even Englisn, American Style IPAs, it had some funky and earthy hop notes. I loved it there. In this case I was less into it. Smoke and funky berry fruit with a bitter note that made me think of raspberries in cold coffee. Strange smoke element that just doesn't mesh for me with the smoky-eqsue malt profile. Maybe great for some, but not as much for me.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.7%. Pitch black colour, large and lasting brown head. Interesting aroma: smoke, tar, roasted malts and fruity hops. The flavour is roasty and smoked, with fruity hops in the background. Not too bitter. I would probably like it even better with less smoked malts and a little more hops, but then it would be a different beer ... As it is, it is certainly worth sampling.
