Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

355 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.3%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of spicy saison yeast, some dust. The flavour has plenty of spicy saison yeast, slightly dry, some fruit. Moderate bittering hops.

Growler. Pours hazy golden with a decent, frothy eggshell head. Aroma has fruity and yeasty notes riding a malty undertone. Crisp flavor has a strong fruity core of pear, banana and apple with tart citrus and wheaty hints. Texture is firm, though fizz is not strong or persistent. Brings a bit of summer into a chilly winter.

12oz bottle -
Aroma - Lemonheads, soft yeast, and herbaceous hops
Appearance - hazy yellow body, 3-finger white head, no retention, light lacing
Mouthfeel - light bodied, light/medium carbonation
Flavor - light bitterness, some yeast flavors, lightly citric, and apple juice
Overall - easy to drink, drinks lighter than a 7%'er. Almost pilsner'ish. -

Fruity and slightly tart is spot on. Light in body for the abv. Vibrant cloudy yellow, yeast driven for sure on the palate. I liked it, but I'm hoping for standouts from GD. This was "pretty good."

Cloudy yellow with white head. Aroma contains lemons, apricot, floral notes. Flavor is rather sour with citrus and spice. No alcohol present in the aftertaste on this. Overall hot as hell in ATL so this one works!

A murky yellowish colored beer. A small soapy textured, white head rises briefly above. There is no lacing. Fruit-yeast nose. A tart, lemony-tart taste. Effervescent and crisp. Not bad.

Sampled on 6/4/2011. This saison pours a slightly hazy light yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, citrusy and sweet, some spices. A light to medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet, citrusy and cereal. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Lively carbonation. Crisp and clean. Light and refreshing. A little differently spiced than most saisons, a little hoppier and way more citrusy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Smells like straight up urine. I have had several Saisons including a trip to Brussels and this is not a Saison. It pours thin with a lot of fizz that quickly disappears to leave a thin, flat and lifeless beverage. Hazy pale piss appearance. Taste is like a saison light (with urine notes). Can't believe I bought a 6'er of this for $12. Oh wait, that's all I could get. Never again. Try Saison Dupont or North Hampton's instead! I'm really starting to dislike this brewer except for their Yeti. I think they are living off their rep. New name for this beer: Papa's Piss Water!

Pours deep hazy golden with a moderate and quickly dissapating head. Banana and clove are apparent in the aroma - the beer's most redeeming quality. Yeast, malt and fruit are balanced in the flavor, albeit uninspired. Decent, but on the sweet side for my personal taste.

Just realized that I’ve never rated this, even though I’ve had several times. This is a pretty good US attempt at the style with a tart finish and a good level of spicing. It could pass as a true Belgian, but lacks a little bit in the funk department and slightly errs on the sweet side.
