Our owner’s paternal grandfather - a Sicilian immigrant - labored 40 years in the Pocahontas Fuel Company Mine in Bishop, Virginia. GFB commissioned four Western North Carolina songwriters to pen a tune celebrating this “Bishop Coal Miner” and his courtship and lifetime marriage to our owner’s paternal grandmother, a Hungarian immigrant. (All songs can be found on GFB’s YouTube channel.) The nose of this Award-Winning black IPA is grapefruit and citrus. The velvety mouthfeel and medium body unearths deep notes of licorice, black currant, tangelo, and an earthy bitterness. Raise a toast to Heritage in a glass!
