The Pugnascious is designed to be a very simple ale. A combination of pale malt, crystal and 4 strikes of cascade hops in significant quantities - in true US pale ale tradition. Not rocket science, but no beer is.

The beer poured a translucent amber colour with a long lasting light tan head. The aroma is fresh caramel, floral hops, and grass. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is caramel, with citrus and yeasty hints in the background.

Pours an average size foamy off-white head and has a clear light amber appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of mild citrusy and grassy hops. Flavours are mainly bready malts and piney and grassy hops.

500ml bottle: pours an amber clear ale in the glass with a decent frothy 2 finger white cap. Aroma is light but you get a pleasant toasty biscuit tone with some nice grassy hop notes. Medium-light bodied, it tastes pretty much as it smells but more intense. A simple non nonsense quaffing ale with buscuity malts in fair balance with the resinous hopping.....lightly dry in the finish whit good hop bittering. A very pleasant, approachable full flavored sipping ale, I'd love to session with it but at over $3.50 for less than a pint it’s too cost prohibitive for that.

Purchased at the LCBO tonight and bottled on AUG 03 2011. Pours a clean amber colour with a big off-white head that stays a long time and leaves decent lacing. Great Pale Ale nose with the mix of sweet malt, cereal grains and hops. Surprisingly, the taste is a bit too mild for me (especially after the beautiful aromas). Watered-down caramel with a little hop in the finish, but all too watery. Too bad, as this could be a great one. Still, refreshing overall with its little dryness in the finish. Funny, it does get better as you drink it (and no it was not cold to begin with).
