This is the Cascadian ale brewed for the season of celebrations. Very pale and full bodied with a rich flavor imparted by Pale and Honey malt and assertively friendly hop character, Winterfish will put a glow in your cheeks and warmth in your heart. The hop profile is quite distinct, featuring 100% Yakima Chinook hops in the kettle for bittering, flavor and aroma. In fact, this is the hoppiest beer yet from the Mighty Fish Brewers, and perhaps the hoppiest Winter seasonal you’ll have the pleasure to taste this year. We’ve specially designed Winterfish to be a strong seasonal ale to warm the hearts of Cascadian ale lovers throughout the blustery months. Take your time, savor a pint, and know what hearty Cascadians mean when they say that a cold, wet Winter never sounded better.

    12oz bottle -

The beer pours out a hazy orange body, 1" small white head. Moderately hopped, nicely balanced. Soft malty sweetness, some grapefruit-like hops come up. Flavor is sweeter up front with a nice bitter grapefruit finish. Easy drinking.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with no head. Very well carbonated, lots of little bubbles. Aroma is fairly mild with hints of fruity bitterness and sour citrus. Taste is kinda odd to say the least. Fairly bitter but not too much. Got a dry fruit taste to it that is also fairly dry at the end. Somewhat of a rotten fruits hint to it. Not exactly a beer i would have often.

Hoppy aroma has a sour citrus note that has both grapefruit and orange elements plus a woody underpinning. It pours a pretty clear amber with a thick, fine-bubbled white head that leaves some generous lacing. Flavor is hoppy and woody, a little bitter, with more than a hint of fruity sweetness and some citrus. Smooth texture has about average fizz and body. Overall, not terrific, but worthy of a try.

From Zyne (Calgary). Hazy gold body under an active ivory-hued head of about two fingers depth. Nice retention, too. Citrus aroma, not much hop here. On the other hand, the flavour had lots of hops as well as obvious citrus notes, with a piney finish. Rich mouthfeel. Odd to call an IPA a "winter seasonal".

An orange colored beer with a medium sized, foamy textured, white head rising above. Good hang time on this one. It settles eventually into a thick ringlet and bold splotches of film. A citric nose. A bready-hoppy blend in the tasting. Medium bodied and smooth.

many of the previous reviews are right on the mark - no HUGE faults, but doesn't distinguish itself...at all. Piney peachy hops are right on the mark as well, but while it is a fairly bitter beer, it lacks any punch or complexity. An average IPA at best...I was expecting more. Spawned on date of December. The lack of a year combined with the mellowness of the beer, along with other signs of age (the aroma and flavor were similar to other past-their-prime IPAs I've had) make me wonder if this was from Dec '07 or '08. I'll guess '07 as it doesn't taste or smell fresh enough for a 3-4 month old...if it is, that sucks. Not one I'll have again either way. It may be a good idea to distinguish your winter offering more than this one does. 3/12-tried again. mediocre at best. meh.

A nice, tastey, citrusy IPA. Pours a hazey bright orange colour with a fairly large white head. Plenty of fruit on the nose, and a sweet floral aroma.

Bottle courtesy of Sammy: Poured a deep slightly orangey color ale with a small foamy head with some limited retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and bitter hops is mostly dominating without being too strong. Taste is a mix between some sweet malt with a medium bitter finish with some distinctive citrus notes. Body is quite full with some low carbonation. Overall, while this was an interesting beer I thought it was lacking in hops bites for the style.

Bright apricot to brilliant orange in color, almost no head was produced in during the pour, how ever beecronic got a massive cap on his how very strange, looks like the will be a tasty beer but a touch boring to look at. Smells like fuzzy peach sour candy, so very peachy smelling, so much delicious aroma, aggressive tart smelling hops but not sickening like if find some other IPA’s to be, I this smells so good I can’t stop sniffing. Hopriffic flavor, sweet candied peaches, grapes, and tons of mind numbing bitterness but some how no bitter after taste. Such a good find, drink it if you can find it.
