330 ml capped and translucent bottle, as a 5.8 % ABV. Poured in the original Adelscott glass a clear copper-brown coloured ale with a generous two fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is slight toasted malts, hay, barnyard. The flavour is very sweety and caramel malts, biscuits, notes of smoked peat. The mouthfeel is slight creamy, rounded and quite thin. This light bodied ale has a dry sweety finish. May be brewed with peat smoked whisky malts but overall unpleasant.

Darkish yellow nicely bright color. Much white foam, but it dissapears fast. In the aroma, there's much strong whiskey, interesting hints to the smoked bread. In the taste comes out the smokeyness and also the strong hint to the whiskey. Interesting beer.

I saw this beer on a poster many years ago, went on a ski trip last week, and they had it for sale in this local bar. went and sampled a few bottles, and was in love... it tasted bitter with a twist of sweet rum. its a very nice drink for social occasions also.

This smoked beer pours a light orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is skunky, fruity, and sweet with a touch of smoke. A medium bodied smoked beer. Malts are fruity and sweet. Touch of whisky, touch of smoke, some skunk and some malt. Not a really good combination. Very unremarkable beer, its kind of sweet, and a touch watery tasting. Wonder if any of the flavor problems are from being in a clear bottle. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Ugh. How anyone could muster enough strength to push through 12 ounces of this, must be a glutton for punishment. This was just wrong in so many ways. Aroma of toasted bread, phoney-baloney whiskey and liquid smoke extract. Appearance was light brown in color, clear with a smallish white head. Everything about the flavor of this beer seemed fake to me. Fake whiskey, fake malt, fake smoke. This was just putrid all the way around. Please, someone show me a beer where the French don't f*** it up!

Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, slight wooden hints and some barnyard. Flavour is very sweet caramellish malts, with slight hops. Absolutely no connection to whisky, except for the slight wooden hints, that can be from an oak cask or something...

One of the only good french beers. Even though it is a subsidiary of Heineken, it is still a nice beer. Very little head but has a nice aroma and very clean beer. Flavor leaves a little to be desired but not bad.

bottle poured a light copper beer into the glass, small, fast to vanish cap...aggressive carbonation. Sweetness over some smokey tones in the aroma..had "dutch skunk" possibly from the clear bottle. Sweet and bland with liquid smoke type flavor...cheap and processed flavor and character. Will not be revisiting this one.

Bottle somewhere in Paris. Amber coloured with a slim white head. I had the impression I was drinking an average malty beer into which some cad had poured a disgusting cheap whiskey.

Dark orange to amber in color with a nice full head. Aroma was malty and lightly smokey; surprisingly it was also slightly skunked. Flavor was very sweet, more so than the smoked whisky malt. A butterscotch note also came out in the finish that gave the smoked malt a run for it's money. Finish was strong and very sweet. Almost too lightly smoked to be considered a smoked ale.
