This brew from just down the street pours a slightly dark copper color with a medium head that was just off white with lacing that lasted almost the whole glass. It had a stronger malty flavor than I had expected but was not too much (for me). Overall pretty good.

A Scotish Ale? No way. Sorry. Uh-uh. It had none of the Scotish Ale characteristics. But what it did have was more like a lager or an perhaps an amber ale. Aroma was sweet, a little corny but clean. Where's the peat? Not here. Appearance was amber colored, okay. Mouthfeel was light bodied, and too light IMO to be a Scotty. Flavors were clean, a little sweet but that was really all. It was consumed rather quickly so it's obviously drinkable. So I rated accordingly to a Scotch Ale. I'll pass.

12 oz bottle. Amber color. Small sized white foamy head, long lasting coat the glass lacing. Aroma is fruity and sweet. A light to medium bodied Scottish ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Some bittering hops. Kind of watery and lackluster. Not a lot of peat and malt flavors. Kind of more an amber than anything else. Drinkable but kind of non-descript. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is sweet.

Been very mildly impressed with this brewery's offerings. Tend to shy away from the ussual trappings of most other West Coast & PacNW outfits -- especially when it comes to the bigger/stronger/faster/more-bitter never-ending race. No, like the other three beers I've had from this outfit, this beer's strength is that it isn't balls-to-the-wall hoppy and/or alcoholic departments.
"Scottish Amber Ale"? {Shrug} If the make-the-style-up-as-you-go-method works, run with it, I say...! ;) But this does have enough esters in the nose and flavor to make you think this came from the Right side of the Atlantic vice Left, but an Amber? Nah.... Call this a 50/- Ale, and I'd be "more with ya", so to speak.
Nice mouthfeel, and easy in the finish. Quaffed this down rather quickly, which is a rarity for me and Scottish & Scotch Ales.
Another reasonably impressive offering, from an outfit that has a few interesting tricks up their British-inspired sleeves....
Music: Joe Satriani's "Time Machine".
