Mild not meek. For centuries, mild was the beer of the Welsh working class. Long before the style (and its strength!) all but disappeared in the early 20th century, it was known to be anything but timid. Boxing Hare Ruby Mild is our tribute to this traditional beer; full-flavoured and robust, it pours a deep garnet with luscious malt complexity.

355ml can from brewery that now shows 3% ABV .Pours a clean dark amber colour with a light beige frothy cap that has an average stay and some decent foamy lacing. Aromas of a nut brown ale with the caramel, fruity malts and some nuttiness. The taste has these things with all of these malts and roasted ones as well, giving some molasses notes. Hard to say this has this low alcohol content, as it shows a lot for a mild ale. Well done.

On tap at Bowman's Bar and Grill. Pours a fair size frothy tan head that dissipates to a thin layer and has a dark amber/brownish appearance. Decent sticky lacing. Aromas of light roasted malts, hints of caramel. Flavours are mild roasted malt, hints of cocoa and some caramel notes in the finish. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Not too bad.
