The appearance isn''t much -- the head is sluggish and fast-fading. Body is just what you''d expect from a Pale Ale. the aroma is slightly citrusy hops. The flavor is nice, however. Toasty malt, caramel and a bit of chocolate that does more to mellow the character than to be a prominent aspect of the flavor. Surprisingly crips. Hops are subdued (despite being the biggest part of the aroma). There''s a slight tea-like aspect to the flavor. Great drinkability, good session beer.

So sad Dogwood’s gone away...I’ve always enjoyed picking a sixer of this for 6 bucks when not in an adventurous mood or low on cash. Well-crafted pale ale -- copper-colored and nicely hopped, with citrus/floral flavors.

A little less than brown color with little head. It really kinda looked like ginger ale, head, carbonation and all. Kinda had a cool aroma, like hoppy grape juice. I thought it was just old, i mean it is old as they dont exist anymore. Kinda tastes alot like flat cream soda, the hops in the aroma didnt translate to the taste. Come back dogwood, come back.

Orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fairly sweet (orange) and sweet. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are fruity and very sweet. Mild slightly bitter hops. Nicely balanced. Lots of orange and spice flavors. English style pale ale. Very smooth taste. Extremely nice smooth finish. Mouthfeel is full and round, Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. And once againÖ. DAMN IT ALLÖ they arenít around anymore

Pours a filtered cloudy orange color with nice head that quickly turns to a thin, white sheet. Aroma is slightly fruity. Taste is a bit thin bodied with a little bit of yeast but more citrus than anything. Drinkable but wouldn’t drink it again if I didn’t have to. Re-rate 12/13/04. Nicer appearance that the last time I had this. Taste has malted out a bit and isn’t as sour/acidic as I remember. Actually, it’s quite balanced now. Not a bad beer at all.

Has an orange hue and not much aroma. Has a bit of a fruity, hoppy aroma and virtually no head. Not much carbonation either. The mouthfeel is watery and should be thicker but makes for easy drinking. The flavor has potential to be better and overall this pale ale is alright. Dogwood has much more to offer than this pale ale.

Orange appearance with absolutely no head. You have to try really hard to taste or smell any hops. Smelled kind of fruity. I expected so much more. Nothing special to me.

Appearance is orange with little head to speak of. Aroma is nice with fruits and hops. Flavor is malty with a decent amount of hops and a slightly sour hint of fruit. My only real complaint is the palate. Its fairly watery. Overall a pretty good Pale Ale and kind of light so it makes for easy drinking. This is thier flagship beer but this brewery offers so much better than this.

Overall, not much to say yea or nay about this beer. It's not as hoppy as other pale ales (which is kind of a downer in my book), but it's also a tad bit cheaper than other pale ales, so I don't really feel ripped off when I buy it. But it does have enough bite to let you know what you're drinking, and it smells good. I consistently get about 1/8 inch of head, and it's nonoffensive.
