Clear orange copper color with a thin white head. Large citrus aroma with slight smells of apricot. Taste is very hoppy and slightly sweet that is quickly balanced by the complex hop finish. No real tastes of apricot but still a very pleasant IPA.

pours a translucent, coppery deep amber tone with a small foamy light beige head with decent retention but even better lacing. The aroma consists of citrus hoppiness with a piney secondary note that emerges along with an apricot presence that is readily perceivable but not overpowering with some malt presence. The taste largely follows the aroma, with citric hops, a dash of pine, and an enjoyable apricot turnout with a good dose of balancing malts. The mouthfeel is medium bodied while the carbonation seems a hair below average.

It pours a shiny copper and amber with a thick and foamy light-tan head and some remaining lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit and citrus, apricot, bread and biscuits, and bitterness and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, bread and biscuits, hops, grapefruit and citrus, apricot, bitterness, and spiciness. An excellent IPA and the apricot is subtle yet noticable. The alcohol level is barely noticable. Excellent!

Another great beer from Dogfish. I have not had a bad beer from this company. The pour was really nice, took my time with it. Amber body, frothy head a bit of an antique white. As I get more experience I find that the more hops, the nicer the head (it seems). The aroma was hop first with an apricot afterburner. Mouthfeel was smooth but had a slight hop bite. Flavor was hops, apricot, grape, but it was green grape. Overall with the 7% alc which was not apparent, gave me a nice euphoria and feeling of well being. I am at one with the world right now as I write this review. I think I will have another.

Aroma of hops and citrus and apricots. Copper color pour with a nice thick white head. Flavor is hops and apricots, however it is not overly sweet, actually it's almost perfect. A wonderful fruit beer that I intend to drink plenty of this summer. Well done!

12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip I have had this beer a few times luckily because this time is yet one more testament to the importance of freshness. This bottle was clearly stamped with 2-19-10 so it is my own fault that this was clearly past its time. While some beers will keep, this one clearly does not, without a toll. My review will thus be based some on my memory of FRESH Aprilhop. Beer pours a dark hazy amber. One-finger head settles quickly to a white coating which remains until the end. Nose is earthy hops and fruit, some grapefruit-like and some which may indeed be apricot-like. Medium body and carbonation is evident but not heavy. Taste starts as an IPA might, but the malt backbone and sweet apricot-like fruits balance this pretty well. There is some movement to dry and bitter finish but never overly so. I will absolutely try this again but watch the “brewed on” VERY carefully. I suggest you do as well.

I thought I missed this beer this year and it was the one DFH I was waiting more than any to try. I was not sure how it was going to taste as apricots are a pretty strong fruit but it pours orangish with a white head, the smell is sweet but the hops shine through the sweetness. This beer begins full of hops and at first you do not get the sweetness of apricots but then they hit and at the very end when you breath in you get a nice taste of apricots. It is not to strong in sweetness and it mellows the hops just enough to what I would dare say is a perfect summer beer.

A really solid offering from DFH, and these are words from a guy who usually doesn’t enjoy most DFH products (some exclusions apply of course). But this was a really refreshing IPA and I’m sure would be a bit better in May or June instead of December.
The beer pours out a dark golden orange color, slightly cloudy with a bright white head with average retention. Aroma is sweet with a herbal veg hop nose with some soft fruity tones. The flavor is suprisingly not as fruity as I would expect, but rather more herbal/minty like hop character, muddled sweet caramel notes and a finish of dried apricots. Easy to enjoy and while it wasn’t overflowing with apricot goodness, it did peak out at the end of the beer. -

Appearance is a little disappointing; the body is a beautiful transluscent copper, but the white head quickly disappears and it leaves no lacing. Aroma is nice, with lightly caramelized malt, grass, and apricots. Tastes and feels crisp with a similar fruity tartness, similar to Dogfish's Festina Peche (it's kind of like sucking on a vitamin C tablet). But the tartness doesn't overpower the sweet citrus and light malt. I wouldn't describe this as an IPA (as the bottle describes), but rather a mere pale ale with citrus fruit. Hops are there, but they're nowhere near the forefront. I imagine this would be a good alternative to fruitier Belgian Wit's, like Blue Moon. Finished it while watching a repeat of the season 6 premiere of House... "It's not lupis."

Pours a nice copper-orange with a white head. Apricots and grassy, citrusy hops up front in the aroma. Taste is a little disappointing though--for an IPA, I was expecting more hop bitterness to offset the fruity sweetness. Unique.

This is a very good beer, with a kick. Grew on me with each bottle I tried. The apricots give it a very nice balanced flavor which slightly offsets the bitterness of the pale ale. Suprisingly light for the alcohol content and compared to some other of the dogfish brews. Sort of a cross between an IPA and American pale ale, with some apricots of course.
