Wow poured black as night as advertised. Nice light tan head with superior lacing on glass. Smelled like molasses, malt and smoke. Truly a winter seasonal with malt up front, faint pepper and extremely smooth flavor. Very well done.

Not a great Belgian beer. I think it was most like natural light, not much flavor, not very appealing appearance and aroma wise. I was disappointed by this one. My expectations are higher for a belgian beer with a fancy name.

Another great beer from Dogfish. I have not had a bad beer from this company. The pour was really nice, took my time with it. Amber body, frothy head a bit of an antique white. As I get more experience I find that the more hops, the nicer the head (it seems). The aroma was hop first with an apricot afterburner. Mouthfeel was smooth but had a slight hop bite. Flavor was hops, apricot, grape, but it was green grape. Overall with the 7% alc which was not apparent, gave me a nice euphoria and feeling of well being. I am at one with the world right now as I write this review. I think I will have another.

The pour was flacid, no head to speak of, little aroma, flavor was mostly malt and bitterness. Not very enjoyable, it almost made it into the drain and local wastewater treatment plant.

Not sure I really like this beer, Sam Adams winter is better. The pour is really nice, the head opaque, copper color body. The aroma was more yeast than anything. Once it warmed a bit I could taste malt. The mouthfeel and finish not so impressive.
