Crisp, malty aroma has a decided overtone of fresh apple. It pours a lovely clear golden amber with a thick, fluffy white head. Malty flavor has a fruity and slightly sweet undertone and a bit of yeast, as well as a slight, edgy metallic tang that actually adds to the flavor. Texture is rather fizzy and well-rounded, leaving a pleasing finish. Recommended to all lovers of golden ales.

more like a hoppy golden...Deschutes already makes a pale and this ain't it. That being said, I may like this beer better than Mirror P ond. It's fresh, clean, and well balanced with a generous amount of cascade hops creating an enticing aroma.

A reasonable pour produces a three-finger thick, light tan colored head in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a lightly hazed, copper color that shows a bright gold color when held up to the light. The aroma is quite hop focused with a mixture of grapefruit, herbal pine and sweet citrus zest. The aroma ends with a nice, crushed malt aroma of toasty grain, light biscuit and crushed saltine cracker notes. It somehow almost smells dough-like at times.
Bright hop flavors of grapefruit greet my taste buds at the first sip. There also appears to be some very faint plastic-like phenolics here, which I thought I sensed in the nose but then dismissed as I couldn't actually imagine something like that being here. This phenolic note is very faint and I could be convinced it is something to do with the hop character; either way though it adds a bit of something off to the over all experience. Citrus notes are definitely the dominant flavor here though and there is a soft malt character to help support things along. Sweet, clean grain notes, a touch of cracker-like malt and a bread-like almost dough-like flavor towards the finish. The finish has a nice, lightly biting hop bitterness to it that actually starts to be noticeable towards the middle of each sip. This is quite light bodied and drinkable, though it is not any where near watery.
An interesting beer that would be quite a bit better if it did not have that slight off note to it. It is very quaffable and would be a great beer when I wanted something a little more characterful than a Pilsner, but with the same quaffability.

Golden/orange colour, small white head. Vegetables and fruity hops in aroma. Flavour is hops, vegetables, some fruits and slight malts. Grassy, hoppy and salty aftertaste.

Pours a nice amber color with just a little head that goes away quickly leaving almost no lace. Smells floral and a bit malty but only the slightest hint of hops. Taste is good. It's almost like a Mirror Pond without as much hops. It's a little bready, too. Mouthfeel is much fuller than I was expecting. Drinkability scores high because it's light and refreshing plus has a relatively low alcohol content (4.5%). I could easily drink these all night long. Yet another good offering from my favorite brewery.

One of a mixed six-pack of beers I picked up while working here in Hawaii. Why am in my hotel room, drinking beers, vice enjoying the fun-in-the-sun and all that there is in Waikiki? I'm weird, that's all!
A nice queching Session Bitter, good for afterwork, and before dinner and more substantial beers later on.
Pours rather light and frilly, but with the huge hoppy nose, this is no schwillish light lager. Far from it. Not surprisingly, this comes across to me as more of a lighter but no less flavorful cousin of Sierra Nevdada Pale Ale. And while some folks might try to make a case for claiming Cascade hops to be "too old school" and "done-to-death", I maintain that there are very good reasons why it's a hop that brewers go back to again and again.
Found this beer to be a tad on the sweet side in the finish, but not nearly enough to really mark down the ratings any. Fairly clean and refreshing in the finish too.
An example of an American brewery making some *not* balls-to-the-wall hoppy/alcoholic/etc..., and yet still producing an enjoyable beer. Still assertive enough to be an American Pale Ale, but I would still tend to think of this as more of a Bitter. Either way, recommended.

Medium gold color, small head. A medium bodied ale. Mild malts, floral/herbal hops. Malts are slightly caramelized and slightly sweet. Hops are floral. Good balance. Nice flavor. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Nice light amber appearance a small head dissspates real fast though it leaves some lacing. the aroma while pleasant is not over whelming,,but i like it. Nice crisp light hoppiness dominates the flavour though there is some sweet maltiness also. Very good on the palte enjoyable An exceptionally drinkable beer for me at least I can drink this all night. NOtes: I read on the Deshutes Web site that this is quite a low calorie beer almost as light as a Bud Light..well its the best "light" beer I have ever tasted..brilliant
