I am not a big porter drinker but this one really makes me want to further explore the porter world. Plus its relatively cheap. I brought the remnants of a 12 pack on a cub scout camping trip ad the other two dads loved it as well. Good mouthfeel, a pleasant aroma ad very drinkable.

Dark brown pour with a medium tan frothy head. Fair amount of lace. Chocolate and coffee notes. Semi sweet chocolate taste. Mouthfeel was a little on the thin side. Very enjoyable.

On tap at Bier Markt, Sparks st. Pours an average size frothy creamy tan head and has a dark brown appearance. Decent thick dirty lacing. Moderate carbonation. Aromas of coffee, mild chocolate notes. Flavours of chocolate, coffee, cocoa, earthy hops, dark roasted malts. Slick, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Not your average porter, seems more stoutly. Still quite an enjoyable brew.

Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting, BB date 30.05. 2014, from Fakta, Denmark. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate off-white head. Moderate roasty aroma, notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee. Medium dry flavour, again notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee, dry finish. Too modest hops.

I've heard this is much better on draught than in the bottle unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to try it that way, so bottle it is. The beer has a coca-cola appearance to it with a black body and glowing brown edges. The head is creamy, dark brown in colour. The nose picks up hints of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and hints of anise. The flavour is quite complex and similar to the aroma. Lots of malty goodness in this one!

After having the Deschutes Black Butte XXVI, having this normal one. Pours a dark colour with ruby highlights. Beige head, good retention and lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, caramel, nuts and coffee. The taste is slightly nutty with roasted malts, hops and hints of berries. Quite a nice refreshing, tasting porter. Much less rich than the one I had before.

Very nice top and color, great thick body and taste is better than i had hoped. The chocolate notes come through nicely, the crystal malts were not that prevalent.I enjoyed this ,and will share another with a friend.

Poured with a black body topped by a fluffy tan head that held thought out leaving good lace and showing some burgundy highlights around the edges. Aroma is coffee and smoke. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth. Flavor is bitter coffee with dark chocolate and sweet dark fruits. A great balanced porter with lots of availability.

Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany - wasn’t able to get much of a head, but so far, so good. Smoky aroma has tones of molasses and sweet chocolate. Smoky, chocolaty, slightly sweet taste has hints of malt and molasses. Texture is smooth yet lively and quite fizzy.

pours a dark dark roasted brown with a beautiful light mocha head with fantastic retention and solid lacing. The aroma consisted of tons of toasted chocolate and toasty caramel. Sweet dry inviting aroma. The taste is really good, reminds me so much of Christmas.Exactly as the aroma, roasted chocolate, sweet dark fruits (dates), slightly nutty and dry. Aftertaste is more dark fruit/bitter chocolate than anything else. The mouth feel is medium bodied or less, decent carbonation but still a smooth feeling to the drink.

A REALLY good beer. I had this at the hotel lobby in St. Louis, MO. What a good beer. Very dark and consistent with the style. It was roasted and properly hopped - proper mouthfeel and head retention.
