Thank you Fran! Nice looking brew, dark honey brown good cap. Nice west coast hop aroma, some soap. Taste has a massive bitter. I like this brew. Fruity body with a soapy bitter finish. Pine, leather, other stuff. Did i mention this is making me salivate. This is more like an IPA then a English ESB but even though it crosses styles I'm digging it. not sure hoe to score it........my marks might be a touch high.

along with anderson valley and goose island, one of the better ESBs out there. pretty close to the traitional style, but with a little more fresh smelling hop complexity going on.

poured from a bottle to a clear copper in color. the aroma was that of fermented fruit. I enjoyed the flavor that was a bit fruity with just a touch of noticeable hops. a nice "juicy" brew here.

Drank this one at the brewery in bend. Hard to believe it wasn't London. Well done with all the malt and hoppiness to be expected from this style. Awesome

Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a thin white head. Slight lacing. Faint malty/hoppy aroma. Flavor is a nice maltiness with a hint of fruit to the bitter finish. A lot better than the aroma would lead you to think it would be.

Pours copper with good clarity and a short, creamy head. The aroma is dominated by coffee and bright hops. The a roasty, caramel malt base is balanced against floral and lightly citrus hops. Medium bodied and creamy with light carbonation.

Sampled from bottle. Pours pretty clear copper with a creamy off-white head and remarkable lacing. Rich toasted bread aroma with dark fruits also present. Nicely bitter with a crisp finish. The bitterness lingers. Medium-full body and zesty. A good esb.

Deschutes, how I love thee... Pours a cloudy amber with a great head and beautiful lace. Smells of wonderful EKG hops. The taste is very understated. EKG hops, sure. The malt is nice and fruity. I don't understand why good beers of this style aren't more popular; I like it far better than American hefs. Mouthfeel is very full. It has a nice mineraly feel to it like a true bitter should. Drinkability is very high. The taste, as I said, is subtle and the alcohol content is low enough that I could easily spend an evening drinking these. Another awesome offering by Deschutes.

Not as bitter as I'd expect from an ESB, but quite drinkable. Not very dry, either, but a bit of hoppiness. This beer found it's way into the sale case at my fav store, 2.99 a six pack (And no tax in MT). For 3 bucks, this didn't have to be my fav ESB, still tasty and drinkable.

The copper with a slight haze is topped by a soupy, white head. The aroma is slightly hoppy with a bit of light caramel malt. The flavor is mostly the malt, the caramel again with a bit of nuttiness. The hops just peek around the edges of the malt, but this is a pretty tasty and drinkable beer.
