Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There appears to be no freshness date on the bottle. Appearance: A small one finger thick white head sits on top of a beautiful clear amber liquid. This head settles down to thin cap which make for some spotty slick lace on the glass. Smell: It has a modest nose with some hints of sugary sweet lemon aid like citrus notes over pale white bready notes. Taste/Palate: The flavor starts with a base of sweet bready malt with hints of caramel/toffee, Butterfinger like, candy mixed in. Hop flavor adds juicy lemony citrus notes that fade into bitter piney hop notes that hang onto the palate and last well into the finish. The body has a good medium feel with nicely balanced carbonation. Notes: For me this was a very enjoyable and easy drinking IPA. I like the use of there Ringwood yeast and love that they finish the beer with some locally grown hops.

A good IPA that is very hoppy. Its body is copper with a cream colored head with tight and small bubbles. From beginning to end the flavor was very bitter with breadlike, flower and citrusy notes.

04.23.05 Tap NY. Golden pour, middling head. This is really pale for an IPA and my initial thought is that it might not be so malty. Some buttery notes on nose, no hops detectable. Flavor is wet grains, butter, bland otherwise. Nothing about this beer would have caused me to guess IPA in a blind tasting.

Heavily hazed amber with a thick white head that lasts a while. It starts off with a spicy hop aroma and picks up a bit of dried banana as it warms. The flavor starts of dry and spicy with a tingly bitterness in the finish, but picks up the dried bananas and caramel along with a bit of sweetness as it warms. Tasty.

Dark orange color. LARGE sized white foamy head. The head will just not disappear, stayed all the way to the bottom of the glass. Aroma is citrusy and floral. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity; with a strong orange and orange peel presence. Hops and malts are balanced but this beer has a whole lotta orange goin on. Mildly bitter. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

This had a very hoppy aroma upon opening the bottle. The beer poured a nice amber shade with a creamy head. However, as IPAs go I didn't care as much for the flavor. The lasting bitterness was not enjoyable. I have had otehr IPAs that I enjoyed more.

I guess the head is the key in this one. Amber color with nice malty floral aroma. Taste was hoppy and sweet with great lacing throughout. Not too shabby at all.

Things I like: This brewery, this brewery's tour, IPAs, well balanced IPAs, not so balanced IPAs, oh, and beer. Things I don't like: This beer. What can I say, every brewery has at least one miss. This one pours an amber color with almost no head. Aroma is grainy, earthy, a bit musty, and unappetizing. Flavor follows suit. Very earthy, with a touch of sweet malt, some bitterness in the finish, but not nearly enough. Hop flavors are very earthy, a touch citrussy, but not nearly as powerful as they should be. This tastes like it was filtered through dirt. This could be a very well balanced IPA, but the flavors just don't come together very well at all. Mouthfeel is a bit astringent and grainy, with a bit of overcarbonation.

Pours with an amber body topped by a medium thick to thick lasting head with some lace left on the glass. Woody slightly roasty hop aroma with a malty background and a touch of sweetness. Woody bitter hop flavor with a touch of sweetness and a bitter hoppy finish. Medium bodied and relatively dry.
