A nice refreshing, light and clean tasting amber ale coming in at 5% Johnny Jones was a naval balloonist that crash landed near Moose Factory, he eventually made his way to timmins, he then got into inventing and prospecting he owned many mining claims but never got to open a mine. He lived in Porcupine for many years. In 1964, at the height of the mining rush he set up a tent at the ONR train overpass where he attempted to sell claims, a little booze and tall tales to anyone who visited.

Thanks to Chopz for picking this up. Pours an extremely massive frothing off-white head, excessive carbonation, has an amber coppery appearance. Big thick soapy lacing. Aromas of toasted malts, bread, herbal and grassy notes. Flavours are mostly herbs, grass, mild spices, hints of ginger. Some notes of cereal and toasted malts as well. Big foamy like mouthfeel. Not bad.

Another Limited Release from Compass. Can from brewery on my first trip there. Pours an amber colour with a huge fluffy-foamy warm beige head, almost everlasting and patchy foam lacing. Mostly hoppy nose with bite, over the caramel and fruity malts. Smooth mouthfeel with some dryness that builds in the finish. The taste is mild with a blend of the grassy hops and fruity malts. Nothing too wrong here, but not a fan of the hops used here, and a little too strong for the style. Wish the malt would shine more. Hard to pour because of the crazy head. Still, drinkable.
