Our ʻRhyme & Reasonʼ Extra Pale Ale showcases the very best hops have to offer, but at only 5.7% abv. It’s far more sessionable than your typical American IPA. The flavour and aroma of Citra, Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe hops prevail without excessive bitterness for maximum drinkability. Malt sweetness in the background complements the hops for a crisp finish that will make you keep going back for more! When this beer was originally released, few people paid any attention to the beer itself, rather they paid attention to the labels. A few years later, and people are raving about both. Collective Arts has no static label for any of their beers, when you buy a 6 pack, or a group of cans, each one will have a different drawing on the label…how neat is that? R&R is a mellow APA. The beer marries the sweetness of the malt with the citrusy bitterness of the hops like no other. Definitely a winner.

Not my cup of tea here. Decent light amber colour. Very strong attack with tastes of some fruit with a bit of hoppy punch in the middle. Very clean ending to the beer. Fairly interesting.

On tap at Jack Astor's. Pours a medium size foamy white head and has a pale golden appearance. Sticky lacing. Aromas of tropical fruits, citrus and grassy hops. Flavours are mostly of the hop variety, lots of big citrus notes, piney and grassy hops as well. Some subtle sweet malty notes. Great retention. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.

The beer pours a slightly hazed golden orange with a quarter inch bubbly off-white head. The aroma is caramel, citrus, and notes of yeast and spices. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is mild grapefruit, notes of caramel, and grass. Quite good. -

Enjoyable APA. Hazy yellow colour with a head that thins but sticks around. Hoppier aroma than most, earthy and fruity. Flavour is well balanced with the malts but again a little hopped-up for an APA. All put together very well. Will try more this weekend.

Bottle - pours golden clear ale with a rocky one finger cap - decent lacing. Aroma is a hop lover's wet dream earthy, citrus, herbal, floral (dry hopped Citra, Simcoe, Chinook). Medium bodied, smooth, rich mouth feel. Flavor is one of a well put together APA - fairly good hop bittering/citrus/earthiness in balance with the sturdy pale malts...goes lightly dry in the finish with a pleasing bittering. If the brewer's intent was an approachable easy drinking big pale, they accomplished that in spades.

6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a warm foamy cap, good retention and lots of patchy-soapy lacing. Big hoppy aromas that are a little different at first with some tropical fruits notes mixed with the grapefruit. Not as hoppy in the taste, but still some nice grass giving some beautiful dry mouthfeel. Still wet enough to go down nicely. A pretty interesting Extra Pale Ale.
