Our Praline Amber Ale is brewed with a generous addition of Georgia Pecans and Madagascar vanilla. We also add lactose to accentuate the natural caramel flavors from the malt. These additions combine to produce a flavor reminiscent of a traditional Southern candy, the praline.

Pours opaque chocolate brown with a fairly thick and rather fine-bubbled tan head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma presents caramel and nutty tones backed up by a sub-tone of toasted malt. Flavor features caramel, toasted malt, nutty and woody notes. This makes a good dessert beer. Maybe I should have saved it for after din-din. Mouthfeel has average body but strong, persistent fizz. A true Southern delight!

I get pretty picky when it comes to ambers. Hard to find one that I really like. To me, they are just weaker versions of browns...that don't taste as good. This is sweetened up by the pralines. Actually seems a little too sweet. Balance is off with a semi-rusty feel. There is some flavor here, just a bit above average for this style though. Drinkable, but a forgetable beer.
