Clear amber body with a beautiful head that barely shrinks. Maybe a slight bit of sulfur in the aroma. Nice slight, sweet caramel in the finish, but too light for my tastes.

Well, now this was an interesting beer. And I can see how it has garnered a few awards, too. Who would have thought that an unknown brewpub (in Mississippi, of all places) could put out such a tasty Amber, eh?

Looked a bit light in the heels, appearence wise -- frilly, fluffy head of foam, marginal lacing, all atop a not-quite burnt/reddish amber body.

But whatever shortcomings this beer may have in appearence, it more than makes up with the aroma and flavor. Nice malty/hoppy nose to this, that goes hand-in-hand with the tasty flavor. Clean hoppiness in the front, with the slightly toasted malt taking charge in the middle and the backend. Not heavy-handed, but quite nicely balanced.

The mouthfeel is perhaps what really makes this particular beer, since I think that it walks the fine line between "too friggin' light" and "too damn heavy" quite well. In fact, I'm pretty sure that any heavier would throw off this beer's balance.

An immediately likeable beer, and is justifiably marketed as the flagship of the brewery. A solid "go-to" beer. Recommended.
