Nice amount of cedar in the background. Also some sweetness with flavors of light bourbon, but not sure the wood barrels had that in it. Not as hoppy as a black IPA. Pretty much resembles an IPS, but with a slightly thinner texture. Drinks fairly easy for 11%, only a slight alchohol bite. Pricey, but solid sharing beer that's worth the try.

As the name suggests, this is an imperial version of a black ipa, aged on cedar. fairly fresh, the cedar comes through more than subtley, but the beer is well balanced between dark malts and molasses, citrus and pine, and cedar. Quite tasty and very aromatic. A little on the rich side, though not hot. Very good.
