Originally this wasn't a Jai Alai treatment but a stand alone IPA. Rating from 2009. On cask at Dunedin’s 1st Annual Hoppy Endings. Pours copper with a slight haze and nice white head. It has a modest aroma emitting a little bit of citrus, pine, grassiness, some sweet crystal malts and a little bit of cedar twang right at the end of the draw. The cask pour and conditioning has created a silky smooth mouth feel that coats every crevice with flavor. I get malts and sweetness that quickly moves into cedar and grassy resiny hops. It thickens a bit about midway and eases into the finish with a very pleasing balance between the malts and hop bitterness to go along with an undercurrent of cedar. A sense of spicy hops and smooth malt covered cedar linger into the after taste.

Bottle shared with ~~NGD: copper/orange amber pour, tight white head with lots of lacing. Cedar and grapefruit right away, both in the the initial aroma and flavor, more tropical fruits and citrus zests, nice big ample bitter linger, offset with nice malt sweetness. Flavorful big and different. Thanks Jason for sharing.

The cedar in this offering sure stood out, but not as intense as the Saison previously enjoyed. Good compliment to the floral hop bouquet. Great looking brew, medium bodied and mildly bitter. Well rounded and robust.

Bottle shared by gunnar, thanks! - as Cigar City Humidor Series H India Pale Ale, aged on Spanish cedar. Jai Alai is not mentioned on this label, but it is apparently the same beer. Deep orange colour, large white head. Strong aroma of cedar wood and fruity hops, hints of spices. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout, very bitter and minty finish and aftertaste.

I had been waiting on this beer, while it was an ok IPA there was nothing cedar about it. The beer had a great hop aroma with the bitterness being about perfect on the tongue but the beer being bottle conditioned had almost to much yeast sludge in the bottom, while the taste was pretty average IPA with not even a hint of cedar.

whoa-strong aroma of cedar...think fresh box of cigars. so THATs where they get their name. bubbly smooth bottle conditioned texture, spicy tobacco and hops in the mouth. another very good, unique beer from CC! older bottle definitely not holding up (just cedar, no hops), but it doesn't really dampen my opinion of this beer when fresh.

A deep amber colored beer. Raise the glass to light, swirl and you can see the carbonation rising. The fluffy textured, off white head rises robustly above the body. Food hand time and excellant lacing of thick film on the sides of the glass and thick cap atop the body. Despite the cedar afing, the aromas and the taste are not as intense as you’d expect. There’s the citric hops. Some cedar in the tasting. Despite the lack of intensity, this is an IPA you need to try.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus hops is dominating with a lightly sweet malt presence also noticeable. Taste was also dominated by some citrus and floral hops notes with a solid malt backbone that doesn’t take too much from the hops and some subtle notes of cedar which seems to round thing out. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well brewed though cedar is not that apparent.

Bottled@omhper. Hazy orangeish brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, lots of tobacco, some mild spices and mild wood. Flavour is cedar, some bitter fruity notes as well as mild herbal notes. One very pleasant IPA indeed.

buckle up buttercup! .. . god, aroma is amazing, a well baked pinecone and cedar (fresh humidor) .. . pours a kickass causing dark rich gold tan with a fantastic silly fun cream head, lacing is cute as a button.. . abv is so well hidden and the subtle refined whiffs of cedar to sap are just wonderful, and super tasty! .. . aroma is just to awesome and the flavours, light peppery spice from the cedar, so intriguing and unique.. joey, you sir have started something that will/should take off like california wildfires.. . this is the highlight of all the beers i tried/picked up while in Orlando! .. . does it get better than this?
