It may say Premium on the label, but that is just to sucker beer buyers who have no clue what Premium means, and they certainly won't find it in this beer. Like a lot of Charles Wells products this is an overhyped beer that has little to offer in flavour. The aroma is weakly malty, and the flavour is as weak as the aroma with no detectable reason to drink it.

The beer pours a translucent pale golden yellow colour with a very thin white head. The aroma is grassy malt with a little bit of hops. The mouthfeel is crisp, medium bodied and medium carbonation. The flavour is very grassy. -

Can: Poured a golden yellow color lager with a medium bubbly white head with minimal retention. Aroma of semi-sweet malt and light hops is a bit shy but could have been worse. Taste is sweet with some light floral hops at the end. There is some adjunct in there but not in such large quantities as to gross out the whole thing. Overall, this was not a bad beer but not something I would go for again.

A crisp lager, with a decent taste and Apperance. This one has a nice hoppish crack to it and a nice light sparkling aftertaste. Decent for an english beer.

I hate to be the only one thus far to knock it so bad, but this one ranks at the very bottom of any beer Ive had to date. Even for a simple lager Id expect more! Off balance, lack of aroma, distant flavour (if any) and that same foul aftertaste Ive experienced with most of the Wells products. Ive found them generally distasteful. I wouldnt hesitate to take any well known swill macro over this Im sorry to say. Its not bitter, not sweet, no hops (duh), no body...less sucking - more beer!

1/2 liter can...finally got to the Chas. Wells after being scared off by the big 2 liter plastic pop bottles they market this beer in. Poured a nice pleasant gold color, lasting white frothy cap that laces well. Well carbonated. Aromas are well pronounced and also pleasant: sweet caramel biscuit malts over some citrusy hops. Fair malt spine to this ...good malt departure balanced off well with the citrus-pine hops...moderate clean finish....medium bodied...well rounded....refreshing,... .... a well made all-malt utility lager with a Brit touch to it in the hopping...not great but good standard fare. At the price I’d much rather buy this than the hordes of commie welfare lagers on LCBO shelves.

Pours a golden amber colour with a thick foamy head and lots of thick lacing which lasts the entire drink. A malt smell with perhaps a bit of corn as well. Very full and very smooth in the mouth with a bitter taste with some mild corn flavours. A little bit of carbonation rounds out the lasting bitter aftertaste.

This premium lager pours a beautiful golden-amber colour, with a fat creamy head and very good retention. The lacing, as well, is thick and fat. Very nice for a lager. The scent is pretty malty with hints of corn (which is one the ingredients). The taste is smooth, with a slight bitterness and a corny finish. Carbonation is very lively. A 3mm layer coats the brew all the way down. Amazing ! Charles Wells products never seem to deceive me for low budget brews. Quite a pleasant drink, for just a plain lager. Premium... sorry.
