My friend Mart bought a case of 24 of these when I visited him in Doha, Qatar. Pours a golden colour with an off-white head, decent retention and nice film lacing all-around. A thin coating also stays on the brew the whole time. The scent is pilsner-like with some malt. Smooth mouthfeel with a little stickiness at the end. Malty taste with a bit of hop in the finish and grain showing up in the aftertaste. Not a bad Australian lager, but thicker than other lagers I had here. Harder to drink many of these (compared to the Beck's - which I also had many).

Sample from 330 ml bottle, as Crown Lager, at the Brewery International stand, Smak 09. ABV is 4.9%. Golden colour, low head. Fruity aroma. Fairly fruity and zesty flavour, some estery sidenotes, low bitterness. Not a great beer, but drinkable.

Brought back from Australia from my friend Jess. Thank you! Pours a brightly coloured golden with a large white head. Aroma is light and fruity, taste is relatively light as well, but grainy midpalate. A nice clean beer.

Golden colour, minor white head. Aroma is hoppy. Flavour is fruits, raisins, hops and slightly malty. Flavour is quite pleasant, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

Plain old average straw colour, produced some white head, but I only had a sip in a glass to see the colour. Drank the rest out of the bottle - I had to...it was a cool bottle and begged to be drank out of. Turned out to be a decent slamming beer. Smelt not bad - probally - has to be local swill in Aust., too bad it was on the weak side - some malts and a slight chemical odor. Flavour was pretty weak too, but non-offensive. Bland malt and yeast with a bit of hops. Went down smooth and quick leaving a minor bitter aftertaste that was enjoyable.

Only had this one first today, after hearing about how great different people thought it was. But, the 'standard' Coldies are much better. This was no way 'great' as described, although it went down really well, very smooth, its not fantastic. Non imposing aroma and appearance, would struggle to get above 'average' marks.

Standard lager look and feel, perhaps one shade darker of p*ss yellow and perhaps one shade more of flavor, but all in all it is still crap...only it's imported, so inevitably costs more. Thankfully this was a freebie, I'd feel really stupid for spending money on it. Life's too short to drink swill. I tried to keep the numeric ratings in line with this style, as opposed to throwing it under the bus completely.

This really is crap beer. It tastes like bitter muddy water. It's like an expensive version of VB, but even less drinkable. Heavily overpriced. Dirty dirty dirty, Oi oi oi.

Bottle. Golden colour with a slim white head. Some malt, some hops, some skunk in the aroma. Flavour was better than I was expecting, as in it had some. Sweet malts and light bitterness in the taste. Light body, moderate carbonation. I can’t say as I would seek it out again.

A good lager-lover's beer, a clear cut above the normal swill. Pale yellow body, plenty of carbonation, a white head. Can actually detect malt in the aroma and flavor, a distinguishing plus for the style. Better than Bud.
