Looked very amber for a German Fest beer. I think it was a little over the top on the malt side, malty smelling, way too malty tasting, and a maltly body. Flavor was good and the beer is easy drinking but it didn't remind me at all of an Oktoberfest or Marzen. It was the only beer on tap other than Lite and Bud Light so given the same situation I'd drink it again.

Poured a golden color and has a white foamy head that stuck around throughout. Seemed like a typical German style fest beer. Nothing to "wow" about it. Nice fall session brew. Has the earthy aroma with a decent malt backbone and a buttery finish. Decent stuff.

Pored copper with a very thin head. There was a fairly high level of carbonation. The brew was quite drinkable with a malty aroma and a hint of sweetness. This beer would be great with salted walnuts or almonds. The beers sweetness would bea great pairing with the salty.

Bottle, courtesy Bockyhorsey. Poured an amber color, very generous initial head with solid retention, nice lacing. The aroma was grassy hops and some caramel. Flavor was grassy hops over top of caramel and pilsner-like qualities, bread and honey. An added spiciness, yet the grassy hops reappear in the aftertaste (Saaz?) and keep this from being anything vienna-like. Not my preferred take on a marzen, yet for what it was, quite nice. Mouthfeel was malty / carbonated. Thanks, Bill and Wendy!

From a bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is grassy and sweet. Falvor is mellow and and malty with a very slight hop presence. An okay beer, very drinkable. A nice session beer. Thanks to Dansting for the bottle.

Pours a golden body with a pretty malted aroma. Also has an akwardly overly malted flavor which was at first a little unpleasesnt. Flavors of soft berries, oak and grain. I may have to try this again.

Capital – Fest Beer: Malty nose; not overly carbonated - both on draft and in the bottle. Pours with colors of deep gold and ruby. A smooth beer overall with a slight fruity, berry undertone. This is a very drinkable beer that we found on a visit to northern Wisconsin that we wish was available in New England. Its beautiful label that showcases Madison's Capital Building stirs the hometown feel of this brew. Fest Beer would be fantastic coupled with a Culver's Butterburger - if you're in the area, make sure to pick some up!
