Our twist on the traditional robust American Porter, Shake Chocolate Porter is dark black in color with rich, sweet aromatics and flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and caramel. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouthfeel.

Black color with a tan head. The aroma contains some chocolate, caramel, toffee, and coffee. The flavor is very sweet with tons of sweets and chocolate going on. The finish is slightly dry but mostly sweet. This is like a liquid milk choc bar. Overall this is nice!

Dark brown in color, with mahogany highlights. Small tan head. Some spotty lacing. Cocoa, chocolate syrup and roasted malt aromas. On the tongue I get milk chocolate and roasted malt with a bit of drying hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium, but has some creaminess to it. An "adult" chocolate milk shake. Very tasty!

Enjoyed the nitro edition at the Yard House in Vegas watching my team play in the Grey Cup. Pours a dark brown colour with a nitro creamy beige head, good retention and thick creamy lacing. Nice chocolate nose remind me of the Young's Double Chocolate stout. Eventually, light grass shows up. The taste starts off with chocolate but the hops really kick in quickly. Roasted malt lingers. Medium-heavy bodied. Quite a nice twist on the Young's, adding the American touch of more hops.

On tap at Old Chicago. Pours a very dark brown/black with a one finger head that lofts a bit. Aroma is mostly chocolate with some dark roast backing. Taste is decently chocolatey with a dry roasted backing. Slight burned wood taste as well. Could have been thicker in the body. Overall a nice brew.

Pours out black like a mug of mud. The aroma is all chocolate. The mouthfeel is very smooth and thick. The taste is sweet and of chocolate malts, and a note of light coffee. This is as smooth as a milk stout. I should have bought two or three of these. The thick tan foamy head hangs on almost till the glass is empty.

Sampled this first at a beerfest last weekend. Now I just tried a full 12 oz. sample, and didn't seem as good as the sample....mainly because the sweetness adds up by the end of 12 oz. vs only a 1-2 oz. pour. Still a solid brew, just a tad too much on the chocolate. I am not complaining cause I love chocolate, but the balance is slightly sweet for a porter. This tastes more like a milk stout to me. Near black appearance with a creamy textured feel. I wanted to get a 6-pack of this and still may, just so many other things out there that I get the idea after one.

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with a medium creamy light tan head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet fudgy bakers chocolate.
The flavor is sweet milk chocolate with some slight acidic cardboard notes and a little roast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with prickly carbonation.
Overall, a decent chocolate beer - definitely all chocolate. -

Comes out of the growler a rich coffee brown, just a skeezix or two above black, with a very thick light buff head - my sample foamed like nobody's business, so if you get this in a bottle or growler you should have a nice thirsty towel handy. Toasty aroma has an overtone of sweet chocolate and snips of powdery cacao and coffee. Fabulous flavor delights with roast malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel and toffee notes. A subtle hop bitterness balances the sweetness. Texture is indeed quite smooth, not watery like too many porters I have sampled, with a decent fizz. Indeed, rather like drinking a beer-spiked milkshake. Hmmmmmm, I think the last time I had a milkshake, the Boston Red Sox had yet to break the Curse of the Bambino.

Solid new addition. Big bakers chocolate and cocoa, kinda like a Sam smiths chocolate stout, just a touches lighter with less roast. This will definitely scratch that chocolate itch, and for a good price.

Brownish black in color with a big frothy textured light beige head rising robustly above. There's good hang time on the head. Settles into thick film and fluffs atop the body. Deep cocoa aroma. Sweet milk chocolate in tasting. Grassy hops come in at the back of the palate. Light bodied and creamy. Very good.
