Nitro pour yields a dark brown with a smooth, creamy tan head. Mild aroma of sweet, roasted malts, mocha and a hint of chocolate. Taste is dominated by butterscotch--where did the mocha and chocolate disappear to? Don't think I would have made it thru an entire pint.

This is way a porter should be in my opinion. Big and robust, no time for messing around. Something serious in this beer. Dark brownish black colour with a full frothy head. Creamy and nutty, rich roasted malts on the nose with some toasted oats as well. Taste has that little hotness from the alcohol. but its so balanced and so pleasent. Thanks Brandon for the good beer!

Pours a nice dark rich color. Smells like chocolate on the nose. The sip has a twist and a bite of smokey bark bacon doggy treats, like beggin strips. Pretty good.

A deep ebony colored ale on pour. A big robust frothy tan head. That settles within a short time, leaving a nice soapy lacing. Sweet malt with light citrusy hop notes. This one is thin in body for a porter. But offers some smoothness. The taste is a porter, coffee, roasted malts. Not real high on the alcohol. An okay drink, nothing offensive but not a home run.

not too complex, but not bad or boring either. pleasant enough roasted aroma and flavor. doesn't really do anything you don't expect in the style. ok overall.

Poured black with a brown head and lots of lacing. Head goes down quickly. There's little to no smell on this beer for me...Sad. There are hints of bitter chocolate on the nose. It tastes watery, like water downed coffee. Not good at all.

Pours oil-black with frothy tan head and nice lace. Light aroma of hops, roasted malts, citrus, and some spice. The mouthfeel is full, smooth, and easy on the palate. Flavor of roasted malts, citrus zest, bitter(unsweetened chocolate), and light mint. Pretty solid.

Sampled on draft at the Bucking Toad, CO Springs. Pours opaque dark brown with an adequate tan head. A mild aroma with mocha notes is followed by a balanced burnt toast flavor with light fruit accents. The body is a bit thin. Not as much chocolate malt as I would have expected. A good beer overall, but really simple and uninspired. Boulder's beer for those 'dark beer drinkers'???

OK, nothing more. Bitterness is there, not sweet or even "roast-y" as other porters, only slightly so. Carbonation present, maybe too present. Dry. Didn't get what i wanted for a porter. Overall, pretty average.

This is my new favorite porter. This beer drinks pretty smooth yet it does have a little bit of a hop bite to it with a nice balance of chocolate taste.
