Before the invention of Black Patent malt, London brewers made porter like this one. Robust, full-bodied, but not overly bitter or astringent. Blue Ridge Porter has a smooth, round malt finish and chocolate undertones.

This was just "aight" for me, man (I've been watching American Idol). There was nothing wrong with it (asides from maybe being a tad overly licoricy sweet), but nothing to remember it by. Average head and little lacing...dark ruby brown. Smelled a lot drier than it was. Coffee tastes start of strong, but the sweet licoricy flavor (which I just don't really like) finished strong. I had this while my dad had a Victory Moonglow Weizenbock...he got the better end of the deal.

This one didn't look or smell impressive. The head was weak (lacing decent) for a porter. The color was red-black, but not pitch dark. The flavor was mostly coffee with some chocolate and licorice detectable. Nice mouthfeel and very drinkable. I don't know, I really liked this one, despite the fact the numbers are pretty standard for a porter. Enjoyable, but not a stand out.

Poured a almost black color with mohogany edges. Has a very smoky and chocolatly aroma. Light brown head good lacing. Taste of chocolate and dark fruits. medium mouthfeel very well balanced. A good porter

Eclipse black color. Medium sized tan foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. A medium to full bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee. Hops are slightly bitter and spicy. Balance leans way towards the malts. Still a good solid porter. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

mohogany color, lovely yellowish brown head. This one has a murky aroma and comes across soft smoky in flavor. also fruity dark chocolate is nice and carries through in the medium dry finish. Very well rounded and drinkable....i'm not a big porter lover but this has likeable flavors and goes down nicely........ Wont grab you by the seat of your pants but a well done classic approach.

Pours a very dark ruby, almost black, with a large tan head. Very pretty lacing. Aroma is very smoky and bittersweet. Mouthfeel is full, but not as thick and creamy as I prefer. Flavor is average...actually a little thin. The flavor that is there is not bad, it just needs more of it.
