A good solid stout packed with all the flavours you’d expect with an extra twist; great malt base, dark chocolaty backbone from two perfectly balanced sources, soft carbonation and a subtle taste of tart cherry in the finish. The Hop character is just present enough to enhance the chocolate malt & cocoa. Cocoa notes in the nose and a chewy yet velvety mouth-feel. Gorgeous lacing remains on your glass. This addition to our seasonal portfolio showcases our brewing skill, focus on quality, character and consistently great flavourful beer. Slow brewed and hand crafted.

The beer poured a dark brownish black with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, and some sugary chocolate. The mouthfeel is creamy, medium-bodied with low carbonation. The flavour is sweet, nutty, and chocolatey with some licorice hints.

This was delicious and decadent, but not overpowering. It's a very black pour with huge choclate aroma. The aroma is mimicked by the taste. The cherry flavour was minimal.

Pours a dead black in the tulip...decent mocha cap reduces quickly but laces well...low carbonation Aromas are plenty and complex, cocoa, roasted and roasted grains, fruit, hay and a light mustiness. Medium bodied for a stout, large dose of the cocoa and roast in the front then a rush a tart berry tastes and some spicy hopping...longish wet finish with light sweetness and some char. Excellent specialty porter that is very drinkable.

The bottle actually says that this is a "Double" chocolate cherry stout. There is definitely both chocolate and cherry in this brew, and it comes out very well in both the aroma and the flavour, and at 5.5%, I could drink this all day (and night) until the cows come home!

Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a deep black color stout with a nice foamy head with some average retention and no lacing. Aroma of deep cacao with some very subtle non-sweet cherries. Taste is dominated by deep chocolate notes with some very subtle cherries and some nice bitter roasted malt notes at the end. Body is a bit light for the style with some medium carbonation. Interesting but missing a bit of character to take this to the other level.

341 ml brown bottle, compliments of Pootz - thanks again. Pours an opaque black color with a thick, creamy, chocolate milk colored head. Foam lasts along time and sticks to the side of the glass. Lots of chocolate, cocoa, coffee aromas. The dark malts dominate and the cherry is a bit tough to pick out. No sweet artificial cherry smells like I had seen in other fruit beers. Flavor matches the smell, roasted chocolate malt, thick and flavorful. Again, not alot of cherry, but it is there hidden in the background. A touch of bittersweet chocolate aftertaste, from the charred grain rather than from any hops. Low carbonation keep it smooth, full flavored while still being medium bodied, not cloying or sticky. A well made stout, where the cherries and chocolate are balanced and don't overpower, or taste too artificial. One bottle (actually half a bottle - I had to share) is just a teaser. I could easily have sipped this one all night while watching the stars. Very comparable to Wild Rose's Cherry Porter.

A rustic tasting stout, aroma which borders a porter. Chocolate malt comes through predominatly, harbouring the dark cherry notes. The two flavours really append one another nicely with no hint of artificiality. An overall admirable stout, some depth but a little on the gentle side, a beer well suited for drinking under any appetite.

Free sample at The Bow and Arrow. Expectations for this beer were very high, and unfortunately it did not live up to snuff. The aroma is unmistakebly cherries and chocolate, but after that, it's all down hill. There is very little head, and there is a carbonated after-feel on the tongue. While there is a nice chocolatey taste, although you cannot taste the cherry, the actual "beer" taste itself is more like fizzy macro lager than stout. Weird. A noble, but failing attempt.
