Nutty Brewnette is an American-style brown ale. A blend of four different dark malts contributes to a flavor profile that is sweet with “nutty” notes. A healthy dose of hops makes this beer hoppier and more balanced than most English brown ales. Alcohol: 5.9% by volume Malt Variety: 2-row Pale, English Crystal, Briess Victory and Special Roast, Chocolate Bitterness (IBU): 35 Hop Variety: Magnum, Willamette, UK Fuggles

My second sampling at BJ's. A nice mahogany-brown bodied beer with a big frothy textured off white head rising robustly above. Good hang time. Great lacing. Thick film, moderate ringlet and persistent cap. Light nose. But very brown ale malty, nutty and hints of chocolate. Moderate and refreshing body.

The color is a nice dark brown, with a rather small head. Aroma is a little bit light, but has a good combination of dark malts and roasted coffee smell. The taste has a great dark roasted malt flavor with coffee notes. A tasty nutty flavor runs throughout a sip. Overall the flavors are well-layered. Drinkability is very good, best from B.J.'s so far

a little thin and not as hoppy as the brewer states. not bad, but nothing exciting. i'd put it as a similar beer to Newcastle...maybe slightly better, but not worth the price.

Dark brown colored with a decent head and some lacing. The beer is sugary sweet with some malts and a touch of bitter hops. Pretty good brown ale but it's just a little too sweet and sugary.

A nice brew. Most enjoyable is ordering a "nutty brewnette" and having people turn their heads. For a corporate brewpub the quality was better than expected. Nice smooth taste with a nice color with limited head. I recommend this brew over some of their others

What a disappointment. While I normally enjoy brown ales, and was looking forward to tasting this it was a serious disappoitnment. Aroma notes were slightly sweet with a bit of malts checking in. Flavor was very copperish (one taster said it was like putting a bunch of pennies your mouth), very slightly nutty and fairly thin.

ugly whore....pours a medium dark brown...sparse head...good lacing...smells a sweet toned down beef jerky and spilled coffee....slight slight fruit and combined bitters...nice but a bit muddled

Decent brown. Thin mouth feel. Average roasted malt flavor. Would drink it again but I wouldnt go out of my way for it.

Dark brown color. Small head. Aroma is nutty and sweet. A medium bodied nut brown ale. Malts are nutty and sweet and fairly rich tasting.. Hops are somewhat mild, but slightly spicy. Nicely balanced. Itís a fairly standard tasting nut brown ale. The touch of dryness at the finish is nice. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

had this @ the BJ's in Irvine, CA. It's a tasty brown ale. I thought it was pretty good, but some of their other beers were far superior (grand cru, hefe...)
