Dedicated to the beauty of a new spring morning with the first sun rays warming the blossoming flowers. Nuova Mattina pours a hazy orange color with a scent reminiscent of field flowers. A complex, intriguing, voluptuous and thirst quenching ale, a hopeful hymn to the day that lies ahead. Brewed with ginger, coriander, green pepper and chamomile

The bottle is shaped like a small club, and when the bottle is full, probably makes a great weapon. I would think that saisons would be a great style for a country like Italy. A cloudy golden pour with lots of foam on top. Aroma is funky and spicy with tons of herbs in the mix. Flavour is spicy with notes of yeast, citrus, and earthy flavours.

I finally found another beer from Italy that is actually quite exceptional, and it's not Moretti La Rossa. Nuova Mattina has a very light orange tint to it underneath a white head that has decent staying power after the bottle pour. Aromas of alcohol and spice are most noticeable, but the big corker comes with the taste. Nice evenly balance spice flavors caress the tongue with a silky smooth butter like mouthfeel. The one spice that I detected that was not mentioned on the label, but seemed to be very bold was cinnamon. Hints of orange peel/zest also highlight this brew's character. I did not taste any green pepper. I found Nuova Mattina at Vintage Estates in Boardman, Ohio. Another trip up the turnpike is on the agenda to get some more. CIAO!

Pours a hazy golden colour. Decent bubbly head retains well but leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is citrus, floral and soggy bread. Very complex flavour. Lime, ginger ,spice and a little floral aftertaste. A bit too carbonated for me but still very drinkable.

Poured a pretty large amount of head, a bit off-white. Great lacing. A nice hazy orangey colour with sediments clearly visible. A bit of hops and spices in the aroma. Very citrusy flavours of oranges and tangerines. nice sour like bitterness, sweetness on the palate. Very smooth mouthfeel. Really nice looking and good tasting brew.

LCBO import. Pours a golden colour with an amber hue. The head is huge, creamy-frothy, very long lasting and creates great foamy lacing. The spices added in this one are a good portion of the aromas: chamomile, hop, ginger with notes of chili peppers. Medium-light bodied with a mild dry finish. The coriander is more found in the taste with the yeast, creating slight Belgian witbier feel. Not as much going on in the flavours. Still, a pretty interesting brew dedicated to the new spring mornings.

The beer poured a nice hazy medium gold colour with a generous off-white head which lasts about an hour. The aroma is earthy must, citrusy fruit, yeast, and honey. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavor is honey, yeast, some sour grains and lots of earthiness. -

330 ml "mini" Champagne bottle fresh sample bottled a month ago. Pours a hazed orange-gold color with a delicate frothy 2 finger cap that lasts and laces my Saison goblet. Natural bottle conditioned carbonation - sparkling small bubbles. Aroma is bright but elegantly complex - spices, floral, herbaceous, honey, cereals, herbs - wonderful nose to this ale. Light bright dry spicey-spritzy character but substantial malt back bone. Peppery mouth feel. Flavor follows aroma with a decent dose of malts in front balanced off with spices and sharp hop bite...bit of complexity mid palate with calmomile, ginger, earthy yeast funk - sharp clean dry finish with a hop bite at the end. Wow. One of the best Saisons I’ve tasted. Well put together with a mixture of grains and malts barley, rye, wheat, oats - complimentary spicing, and hopping. In Dupont’s class for sure.

330 ml capped bottle. Poured a hazy unpasteurized copper-brown coloured ale with a generous four fingers pillowy beige foamy head that had an immense retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. A lot of sediments. Some lacing. The aroma is solid malts, citrussy and floral hops, intensely fruity, citrus, mandarin, oranges, melon, apricots, peaches. The flavour is a huge fruity bitterness combined with a solid malty base and yeast. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. This medium to full bodied ale has a lingering bitter fruity finish. A magnificent combination between bitterness and an aciditic sourness. Quite unusual and amazing. I like it !

Bottle: Poured a cloudy orangey color ale with a large foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of fruity ester and bready yeast is very enticing with good notes semi-sweet Belgian style malt bill. Taste is very refreshing with light notes of apricot and a bready yeast with a solid malt backbone with well balanced sweetness. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed and somewhat similar yeast to some of the Unibroue beers.
