Pretty big nose on this one, sweet malts and bready yeast are rapidly overtaken by pine and citrus hops. Medium amber body with a big offwhite head, fair retention and lacing. Medium body with plenty of carbonation. A solid malt background stands up well to this well hopped (in the English style) brew. Hops are fruity and citrus, malt is a bit sweet, very tasty, very sessionable. Goes just a bit sour towards the aftertaste, almost some Belgium like flavor there, I wonder about the yeast used. A very nicely done English style IPA.

Cask@GBBF2010. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, bready malts, earth, some floral notes as well as mild grassy notes. Flavour is grassy, fruity, wooden and mild toffee as well as herbs. Quite pleasantly balanced IPA.

Served in a traditional pint glass, this poured a cloudy, dark orange with a one-finger off-white head and exceptional lacing. The nose is citrus (grapefruit and pineapple) and floral hops but also some sweeter fruits (like peach) and sweet caramel malts. The latter is there in the taste along with the expected pine and citrus. This is a familiar combination but the total is not like most other IPAs. The mouthfeel is lighter than medium and smooth. Carbonation was moderate to light and the aftertaste was not overly bitter. The hops here are overcome with the sweetness. Not an all-time favorite but this was nice and, at 5.5% ABV, would be quite sessionable.

You know those really cheap Japanese cartoons? No? This is basically a cheaper, Afgahni knockoff. It's this monkey that basically travels around the world, doing nasty things. His butler tries to keep him in line, but, uh... no. .. . Pours a light gold, good decent foam .. lacing is cool though .. . basic flavours of resin, sap, and pine needles .. . feels good in between the cheeks .. . i bet draft would be nice! .

Hazed amber. This seems to have very low hopping for an IPA. Medium fruit. A bit of british yeastiness. This is really stretching to be called an ipa. Mild. Very low bitterness.

Brought a few bottles back with me from Boston..., including this bomber. And while I thought that this brewery's "Steel Rail Extra Pale Ale" kinda sucked (when me and the guys split it a month ago), I gave this IPA an open-minded try.

Good thinking, there, `cause this is pretty damn tasty, IMO. It's difficult to find well-made English-style IPAs (from England, New England, or anywhere else, for that matter), so this was a pleasant surprise, indeed.

Not overally distinctive in the appearence and aroma departments -- though the later does hint to things coming across a bit "off-the-beating-path", so to speak.

This is much more noticable with the flavor profile. Classy English profile here, from start to finish. Not a heavy-handed hop-monster by any means, but definately something that I could see being served up off a hand-pump in the U.K.

Malty enough to matter..., and presenting a rather unified front, when it comes to the overall mouthfeel. A bit quirky in the back-end, especially as this warmed up beyond typical cellar temps..., so this does seem to fall apart a bit in the very end. But still, pretty tasty and enjoyable overall.

Yet another generic IPA to add to the world's collection. This beer had the standard head that laced quite well, but it was all downhill from there. Standard average grapefruit / citrus type flavors / aroma. Snore.

This is a good beer, I have only tried it once. Hoppy aroma. It is not a bad I.P.A. it is quite average. I'd compare it to redhook I.P.A.

Poured a nice copper color with a tight and creamy off white head and spotty lacing here and there. Floral, cirus, hop aroma. Aroma also seemed sweet and spicy. Malts and hops in the taste though neither stood out. This is just your average run of the mill IPA.

Slightly cloudy amber body topped by a medium thick to thick off white lasting head with some lace left on the glass. Sweet and fruity (tropical fruits) hop aroma similar to a fresh tropical punch. Sweet and fruity (tropical) hop flavor with a touch of malt in the background and a bitter hoppy finish. Medium bodied and dry.
