Very minimal nose presented slight hint of malted mil and an odd mustyness.. An almost opaque dark brown body with hints of Ruby highlight tapped by a tan two finger head that leaves lovely lace. Mouth is almost watery and quite carbonated. The flavor is long and drying and quite clean at the finish. Slight hints of coffee grounds and dark cooking chocolate. There's a tiny bit of sweetness that is perfectly balanced with a lot of roasted malt and a nice degree of bittering. This is really a killer Brew I just wish it presented a little more on the nose. And it's very very sessionable.

Wow what a bag in this porter is at less than two dollars. Pours deep dark board with red edges and a nice foam head. The aroma is of rich mat and the mouthfeel is almost thick. The flavor has balance of malt and solid hops with no bitterness.

Dark brown in colour with a tan head with good retention. Nice lacing. Aroma and flavour have a moderate roastiness and chocolate. Caramel, nutty, and a touch of coffee round out the flavours. Medium body. Great porter.

Pours a chocolaty black with a nice sudsy head that takes its time. Aroma is tame with hints of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is in a way not there, feels like it is missing. What you can taste is slight roasts and a pinch of alcohol. Finishes off slightly dry. Fairly smooth. Not the best porter but is certainly drinkable.

A solid porter that I go back to every now and then. A solid black pour with a huge brown creamy cap. Aroma has some smoky notes in it. coffee, vanilla, sugar, and floral hops. Flavour is solid and well balanced with dark fruit tones joining the coffee flavours as a balance.

Deep dark brown (nearly black) pour with a medium sized tan head which disappeared quickly. Minimal lace on the glass. Aroma was nutty with some bananas and coffee. Great coffee taste with a silky smooth finish. Excellent beer.

Haven’t had anything new from Bells in awhile, so this one is poured with anticipation. A chocolate colored beer with a big frothy textured light tan head rising above. Some hang time, settling into splotches of film aside the glass and a thick soapy ringlet. So far so good. The nose is roasted/smokey chocolate/malt. Light but discernable. The tasting is stronger, Semi sweet chocolate, bitter coffee and roasted malt all in a light-medium porter style body. Bells delivers on this one!

Pours black, no head. Aroma is kind of stinky. Mouthfeel is watery. Flavor is expected coffee and chocolate, albeit a bit watery. All in all OK, but nothing special.

Exceptional black color with ruby highlights at a bare minimum around the edges. Decent tan head which was more that adequate, but didn't quite have the retention I was hoping for. Still way above average in appearance. Dark malt, coffee and a fragranc of fresh rye bread. Tad bit of a roasted walnut coming through in the nose also. Smells pretty good. A bit of chocolate to round out the smell. Roasted coffee with chocolate smatterings to bring around a small amount of sweetness with the taste. The dry breadiness is an appealing taste. A fraction of alcohol warmth comes in the aftertaste. Small amount of bitterness is welcome. Medium mouthfeel. Very dry, smooth and mostly creamy. Definitely covers the palate well. I think this is a very, very solid Porter. I like it. Warming and inviting. Porters are quickly becoming a favorite type of brew and this is one I will have to revert back to on occasion.
