pretty clean. maybe a little heavier in body and malt content than i prefer in an apa, but it's well put together. sweet malt and spicy hops in about equal share.

I don't really smell much of anything on this one. Mildly astringent. Soft, thin, white foam floating like a melting iceberg on a pretty healthy amber ale. The hops are rise to the top of the flavor profile, as I would expect from a West Coast APA. Rather dry finish, and much of anything going on. Pretty much what I expected for the price and thge gimmicky label.

Opened up in time for the Vikings-Packers game. Satisfying beer, dissapointing game. Nonetheless, here it is: Pours a crystal clear orange colour with plenty of carbonation and a nice frothy white head. Very fresh hops coming forward on the aroma. Classic pine and citrus fruit as well. Taste was full and astringent. Hoppy yet balanced and totally delightful. Hard to believe it's an APA and not an IPA. Great tasting brew!

Pigskin Pale ale I smell some apples on the nose, along with other hoppy hints. The flavor is similar as well, very bitter hops along with the sweet apple fruit flavor, and some slight sourness as well. Indeed this is a bitter-sweet & sour beer.

A solid pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces a three-finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a amber-copper color that shows a somewhat hazy, copper color when held up to the light. The aroma smells of grapefruit up front, but a deeper inspection of the aroma yields cracker-like malt notes and a touch of orange zest.
Citrus hop notes up front meld into pine flavors and an herbal bitterness that is pretty substantial. Cracker-like grain notes, some grassy grain, a light malt sweetness (though this is on the dry side) and perhaps even a touch of stale malt notes sum up the malt contribution here. This beer does have a big hop bitterness to it, it is perhaps the most noticeable part of the flavor. This is nice and light bodied, though not watery, like a good Pale Ale should be.
A pretty simplistic Pale Ale, this is not necessarily a bad thing in a Pale Ale, but this particular example seems a bit unbalanced (even for what is generally a hoppy style). Not bad, but could be much better; the best thing about this beer is the fluffy, long lasting head.

This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is floral and citrusy, touch of malt. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and piney. This beer is hoppier and bitterer than a lot of IPA and IIPAs. It is most definitely a Pac Northwest beer. The bitterness has some staying power. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter with some staying power.
