Cask, Keg, Can & Bottle Conditioned; Regular. 8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name. Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

Rerate, 330 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Less sharp aroma this time, but pine needle extract dominates. The flavour seems also slightly less sharp, but is hoppy enough. Dry finish. Original rating: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy orange colour, large head, slightly off-white. Sharp aroma of spruce, pine needle extract and solvent. Sharp hoppy flavour, mellowed by some rye "ripe berries" notes. Not in perfect balance.

330 ml, can. Poured in a tasting glass an unfiltered, cloudy and reddish copper-amber coloured Rye IPA with a one finger, beige, fine, dense and pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. A floating sediments invasion. Some lacing. The aroma is intense piney bitter hops, cocoa powder, juicy fruits, oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, peaches and caramel malts. The flavour is juicy fruits, oranges, tangerines, peaches, dark chocolate, caramel malts, flowery, violets and powerful piney-resinous hops. The mouthfeel is quite thick, round, bitter and light sticky. The texture is watery. This medium bodied Rye IPA has a dry hoppy bitter finish ( piney ) and a late emerging moderate warming effect. After overcoming the visual surprise ( a freight car of floating sediments ), this 8 Ball Rye IPA, from the Londonian Beavertown brewery, now part of the Heineken Group, proves to be a well flavoured and nice English Rye IPA. I aprreciate it.

PINT meeting. Opaque dark orange, big lasting, lacing off white creamy foam head. Decent hoppy aroma, some citrus tones. Great bitter taste, light fruit tones. Great beer. (Utrecht 201603)
