This medium-bodied Porter is brewed with a unique blend of roasted malts and fresh hops. Chocolate, smokey notes are abundant throughout and the citrus aroma provides a refreshing twist to this old world beer style. Careful, it will grown on you!

This could be more of a downgrade based on feel vs. flavor. The single sample was super-carbonated, which one of the reviews here backs it up about "massive foamy head". Takes away from the feel and adds that extra carbonated flavor that comes with this. Taste is chocolate malt (medium thin)...mild on the hops. Does not resemble the typical American porter.

Pours out a deep dark brown with a massive foamy head. The aroma is fresh turned soil. The mouthfeel has a little bit of bite but not bad. The taste is all malt, hops and has a smokey after taste.

Bottle from sam. Dark black brown pour, tannish head and some clinging lace. Rich roasted malt aroma and taste, light coffee and very light molasses, some nutiness. Earthy hops to bitter nicely. Tasty critter.

A dark brownish-black colored beer with a big frothy textured light tan head rising above. There's decent hang time with a moderate ringlet eventually left behind. Roasty, coffee nose. Much more of the same in the tasting with some earthy hops. Moderate bodied and oily palate

Comes out of the bottle a deep, barely translucent coffee brown with a thick and fluffy pale wheat head. Smoky aroma has notes of molasses and semi-sweet chocolate and hints of licorice and horehound. Hearty flavor has roast malt, chocolate and molasses notes plus a not-so-subtle bitter hoppy tone. Firm texture is quite fizzy and lively, leaving a fairly persistent tingle and a slightly chocolaty finish. Roll in the kudzu with this one.

Simply outstanding. The aroma is a wonder over which to linger - chocolate, roasted malts with a hint of smokiness - almost peat-like. Nice dark brown color with a tight head. Rich, a velvet smooth to the pallette without being overwhelmingly heavy. The malty flavor is rich as well with a plesant clean, non-sticky sweet finish.
