Top-fermented, dark wheat beer. A strong amber colored, yeast cloudy wheat beer. The beer is strong with the first taste and malty in aroma. The top-fermented, yeasty taste sensation is unmistakable. This beer is rich in sparkle and has just a touch of a special bitter quality.

Very cloudy, rather murky light brown colour. Like most weissbiers it pours with a large head. Plenty of cloves, ripe bananas, oak and hints of smoke in aroma and flavour. A little more hops for the aftertaste would have been good, but this is none the less a first class hefe-weizen. Recommended!

Opaque dark orange, off-white lasting lacing foam head. Citrus aroma, although not dominant, cold climate fruits tones also. Light citrus again in taste, fruits again, some bread, a warm taste. (Velp 201411)

Aroma is Cotton Candy, Beeman's gum (yup I am that old), fruity banana esters, and some pepper. Appearance if a properly foggy orange-copper body topped by an only decent (for a weizen) off white head with mediocre retention and no lace, very disappointing. Mouth is slick but lacks the tingle that should be present, again disappointing. So, OK, first dunkel weizen for me, had a lot of hefes, which i am quite fond of. Should this beer be as sweet as it is??? Sweetness dominates that taste but it does have banana and clove lurking underneath as well as bubblegum, all appropriate except the sweetness? Slightly cloying floral finish to this which is odd, violets? Aftertaste is wet and fairly balanced, aftertaste may be that best part of this beer.

Pours a cloudy light amber with a massive 4 finger off white head that takes it damned time going down. Nicely carbonated. Aroma is wheaty with hints of cloves and lemon. Taste has a slight caramel consistency to it. Hints of lemon, clove and wheat. Finishes off slightly dry and creamy. Awesome beer.

This got poured into my glass and it looks cloudy and unfiltered. The aroma is sweet so I was expecting a fruiting taste. It is in fact fruity tasting but it's not sweet or over powering. This is a very refreshing beverage that has solid beer taste. There is zero citrus bitterness and drinks very smoothly.

A dull orange tinged amber colored beer with a big fluffy textured, white head rising impressively above. There's some hang time. Settles eventually into a thick ringlet. The nose is spicey wheat. The tasting bananas, more bananas, clove spiced wheat. Moderate smoothness and effervescent. Quite a taster.

pours orange-ish amber color with thousands of bubbles streaming up from the bottom with a small tan colored head. The aroma has your classic wheat smell, very clovey and spicy banana. The taste is very malty with a little tartness. A touch more grapefruit and hops on the front of the mouth, with a biscuit/bready finish. The mouthfeel is drier than expected but overall is very refreshing.

The best dunkelweizen I've ever had had. A nice caramel brown pour with a 1" off-white head, a little haze. Aroma is roasted malt, some wheat, clove, banana, and spices. Flavour is awesome with a great balance between the sweet flavours of the fruits and the bitterness of the hops

500ml bottle
Aroma - classic aroma...cloves, bubblegum, bread..light hay
Appearance - burnt orange color (clay), huge pillowy white head, cloudy
Taste - banana, cloves, apple juice (red delicious) and bread
Overall - just a simple, delicious, fantastic summertime beer. My local BevMo had carried this, then stopped and is now carrying it again. Thank you! -

A delicious banana, clove wheat beer. The beer is a shade of burnt orange with a lot of haze and a creamy head. Aroma is mostly banana with good wheat spice. Flavor is same with citric note. Feel is properly well-carbonated. This is a very good wheat beer and one of the few that I would put up with Weihenstephan’s lineup.

Tried this one again on 29 Dec. My first review is spot on. Still in my favorite area- german weißbier. Poured nice and creamy good white head that dissapates. Good lacing that follows down the glass. Not heavy on clove or banana- smooth well balanced. This is another keeper. Update- 24 Jan 2010 just totally delicious. #1 so far
