Pours a dark amber with small white head that fades quickly. The aroma is malt & apples. The taste is toasted malt & caramel. The mouthfeel is medybodied with nice carbonation

The beer pours a cloudy reddish-gold with a medium sized white cap that lingers. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel, some applish notes, yeast, and earthy hops. The flavour really concentrates on the roasted malt and caramel character with somewhat of a hoppy finish. It really is the dark notes in this one that bring out the flavour however.

I am so into dunkels right now! Great winter beer. Fills the mouth, so huge for a wheat beer. Silky and smooth, lovely flavour. Bannana is a vlavour I would usually abhor in a beer like kieths white, in this case, it is like a beaujolais neveau, super young and fresh, lovely and drinkable. Otherwise the beer is not terribly complex, it is german afterall, but really really high quality.

On Tap: puts a lightly clouded cooper-tea colored ale in the flute, nice puffy off white cap- good retention and glass lacing....lively natural carbonation. Aroma of dark toffee, roast grains, toasted wheat, big on fruits> banana, exotic fruits, some clove and spice...very pungent aroma. Flavor profile sees roast malts and dark toffee up front almost instantly balanced with fruity-spicey complexity, some cocoa, some mustiness....long drying finish with some herbal hopping pucker. This is my favorite H-S Weissbier...just loaded with favor, refreshing and sessionable.

Pours a murky amber/tea brown with a light head and some lacing. Ripe fruits, some lemon, sweet wheat in the aromas. Taste is slightly sweet and wheaty with a ripe fruitiness and then slightly lemon sour - yeasty, wheaty, and slightly zesty.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Hazy nutbrown colour with big creamy beige head. Aroma is banana, some fruits and caramel malts along with some mild yeastyness. Flavour is banana, wheat, caramel malts, some nuttyness and also mild cheesy notes in the background. Tonguetickling carbonation, yet very smooth to drink.

From Full Throttle Bottles in Seattle, WA. Poured out a murky dark brown beneath a smallish head. Aroma was nice enough, in a citrus kind of way. Taste was not unlike a typical Hefe, but the mouthfeel was somewhat thicker. Slightly sweet at the finish along with some citrus tang.

Maybe this was just an old bottle of beer (dated 3/07), but I am not impressed. Smell: Wheat cola. Appearance: Muddy water. Mouthfeel: Mucus (slimy). Taste: Sour carbonated tobacco spit. Finish: Salty. In a word, disgusting. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Updated review... Bottle date 5/08 Why can't I find a bottle of this beer made within the last 12 months???? Anyway, much better. This beer is like a thin bock with some spices and sweetness. Not too bad. Mouth feel is thinner than the mucilage noted above. Aroma is a little like spiced cider, but the appearance is still murky, thin and brown. Overall, a good beer. Most beers age well but this one appearantly does not.

Is it a dunkel, or is it a hefeweizen? No, it's a silly named hybrid that should have best been left at the brewer's chemistry department. This beer is cloudy, a dark golden brown, and has a distinct spicy aroma. There is more of a caramel malt aroma than a wheat aroma. Similarly the flavour was more of a dunkel than hefe flavour. I'll stay away in the future.

This was a great beer. It poured a nice dark brown with a nice head. Lots of lacing. It smelt of butterscotch or strong carmel. The beer tasted slightly sweet with strong malts.
