Aroma is faint, very bready, a hint of baking spices. Pours a lovely deep golden brown body with a off-white foamy head that has great retention and lace. Mouth is fizzy in a pleasant way, slightly creamy and clean. My first Hefe that is Dunkel and I like it a lot! The banana, clove, bubblegum flavors are quite laid back and just excellently balanced with the sweet wheat malts. The is brewing at a top level!

There is something comforting about dark hefes and this beer displays it in all its’ splendour. The pour is a murky amber colour with a huge off-white head. Chocolate is added to the typical notes of wheat, clove and banana making for a pleasant smell. The flavour starts sweet and fruity, but the finish is bitter and chocolatey.

Opaque dark orange, off-white lasting lacing foam head. Decent, not strong, caramel aroma, suttle taste. Some orange tones there. Good beer. (Velp 201506)

From bottle. Pours a good size frothy beige head and has a hazy amber appearance. Pretty good lacing, sticky. Aromas of malts, yeast and light spices. Flavours are mostly malty, some sweetness and light caramel notes. Hints of toffee and toasted malts as well. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Fairly good retention. Pretty good stuff overall.

Pours a cloudy light copper color with a 3 finger off white head that goes down quite slow. Some carbonation. Aroma is very sweet with hints of caramel, toffee, and malts. Taste is not metallic like the other brews from this brand. Hints of clove, banana, and toffee malts. Slightly creamy but still a tad watered. Finishes off a little chewy and very sweet. I like it.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy brown colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of ripe bananas, cloves and brown bread. The flavour has also notes of brown bread, hints of banana and cloves, but is far drier than the aroma makes you expect. Minimal bitterness. Refreshing and easy drinking - could easily be recommended even for pale lager drinkers who think that everything darker than piss yellow must be dangerous.

Hmmm, as I write this my chest hurts for unknown reasons, my back too.... Big head on this beer, fairy small bubbles. First smell it seems really sweet. First taste it seem really soapy. I really wanted to like this, but the more I drink, I think not. Really really strong bannana and some gingerbread. White sugar and brown sugar in equal proportions. Some yeast, like dense dry ginger snaps. Maybe a bit of a rye/dark cranberry sourdough... soft doughy orange and plum might show up here and there too. Overally I just find it a bit too sweet.

Poured a cloudy, dark orange body under an active tan head. Big enough it was, but not enduring. Aroma was cloves and bananas, so was the flavour. Mouthfeel good and smooth, yet not overly thick. Nicely balanced finish. Pretty good.
