Slightly better than the original IPA. Looks OK for about thirty seconds. Very mild earthy aroma. Flavour is earthy with a bit of grapefruit. Thin. Tastes like a dirty larger.

The second of the three new single hop pale ales from Nova Scotia. This one pours slightly darker than the Cascade, but with a smaller head. The aroma is very lagerish with very earthy hop note. Flavour is quite grassy, but clean. The best of the three in my opinion.

Can. Colour - clear gold, white head. Aroma - floral and perfumy, weak malt, musky. Mouthfeel - medium bodied. Flavour - malty, slightly sweet, not much of a hop presence. Overall - like the Cascade, a decent attempt to win some fans among the beer snobs, but falls even farther short

From a tall boy, pours a very large amount of frothy off-white head. After a while, leaves a smaller layer and sticks around. Has patchy lacing. Appearance is golden amber. Aromas are mainly herbal and floral hops with a bit of resin hops as the backbone. Flavours consist of light floral hops and a much more malty influenced taste, mainly toasty, nutty type malts. Some spicy notes and slight bitterness make it definitely more flavourful than their regular ipa. Light bodied and mildy creamy mouthfeel. Pretty average carbonation. Enjoyed more than the Cascade Hop Ale and probably the same as the Hop Mason. Just ok.

Not as impressive as it's Cascade cousin, especially in both the nose and appearance, but it is enjoyable, and the more you drink the better it becomes. I gotta give them credit at least they are trying. Not much to it actually. I'd put on par with their red.

After reviewing their Cascade Hop version, decided to do this one the see the difference between them. Looks pretty close to the same (amber, clean, warm cap). The hop nose is there, but this is more on the warmer side, than grapefruit and pine. Warmer, meaning sweet and malty with alcohol, kind of malt liquor, but not one. Seems like the Hallertau hops release more the malts and alcohol. Nice to compare both, but not a beer I would drink a lot of. The Cascade version is a little punchier.

473ml can from the gummint dairy bar pours a crystal clear amber-orange ale in the glass with a 2 finger rocky cap that lasts about 3 min. the reduces to a thin surface lace. Heavily carbonated. Aroma is subtle with boiled cereals and noble earthiness. Thin body and mouth feel. The taste is decent but thin - earthy woodsy with light malt tones, again, no sweetness, relatively dry and clean with some bittering, a wee bit of cidery fruitiness and a fast clean finish. Another offering far better than their standard dreck. I would drink this again.

The beer pours a golden-red colour with a very thin tan coloured ring for a cap. The aroma is floral hops, grains, as well as some weak caramel notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is very grainy, far less flavourful than the Cascade version. Definitely not worth retrying.
